THE ANCIENT IN THE NOW

Join us for an evening of powerful storytelling, where myth and ritual intertwine. Guided by sacred storytellers Samantha Rose and Kary Stewart,Folk & Fire is a ceremonial evening where story becomes a path of remembering.

We are living in a time of profound change. Many ancient prophecies speak of this moment - a threshold where humanity is being called to return to the heart, to gather in community, and to restore our sacred relationship with the Earth and the unseen world.

These same prophecies tell of wisdom keepers - elders and storytellers - stepping forward to support the collective remembering. And now, it is happening. Indigenous voices, long silenced or ignored, are rising to share teachings rooted in deep time, helping us reconnect with what was once known but has been forgotten.

Folk & Fire is a space for that remembering.

This evening, we enter into story - into old folktales, mythic threads, and new visions that echo ancient truths. Guided by Myths with Marcus, a musician (to be announced) and co-hosted by Sacred Storytellers, Samantha Rose and Kary Stewart, we hold story as ceremony: a ritual space where imagination, memory, and meaning come alive.

These are stories to guide us through the fog of modern crisis. Stories that remind us who we are, where we come from, and what it means to belong -  to each other, to the Earth, and to something greater.

Join us for an intimate, story-led ceremony with myths, original tales, and reflection.

Come, sit by the fire. Be part of the remembering and let the stories do their work.

FEATURED STORYTELLERS

FEATURED  STORYTELLER: MARCUS

I am a dual heritage storyteller. One of my ancestors from three hundred years ago is described as Irish-Ghanaian. This ancestry orientated me, not toward certainty, but toward questions of culture, inheritance, and belonging. I found in myth shockingly similar motifs across vastly different cultures. Myths give us the responses of our ancestors to the big questions stretching back thousands of years. This is something shockingly beautiful to be treasured and shared.
FEATURED MUSICIAN: CARLO
Carlo Alberto De Ferrari - Originally from Italy and now based in Brighton, Dusk is a guitarist devoted to the healing power of medicine music.  Before embarking on a year-long journey through South America, he collaborated with a range of medicine musicians across ceremonies, Kirtans, concerts, and sound healing events — offering his guitar as a supportive vessel for shared musical experience. His recent travels through South America have further deepened his connection to ancestral rhythms and the spirit of sacred music. He walks the path of music as a form of service, seeking to create spaces where healing, reflection, and joy can unfold.
Folk & Fire co-host Kary Stewart: Peruvian by birth and British by upbringing I began to return more regularly to the motherland about 15 years ago. In the myths and creation tales of indigenous wisdom holders of Latin America, and in the call of nature, I  found truths forgotten by many. These experiences and my work as a Kundalini teacher, have inspired me to  tell stories that bridge cultures and spark remembrance of our true natures.

Folk & Fire co-host Samantha Rose: Rooted in a lineage of storytelling from her mother and great-grandmother, Samantha has refined her craft under the guidance of renowned storytellers Martin Shaw and David Novak. For the past 10 years, Samantha has performed at festivals, in boardrooms, classrooms, and around fires. She has gone on to teach others the art of Sacred Storytelling in her 9-month apprenticeship. She is deeply inspired by how stories can lead us back to a profound connection with an animate earth.
