Womb Alchemy

The womb is a place of alchemy. Within her void like chamber, holds the capacity to trans-mutate energy, the current of life force from one form to another.

As the interface of elemental and cosmic rhythms, the womb offers a gateway through which one can travel through and to the other-world. Undergoing a process of transfiguration we journey to the cavern of creation - using breath and imagination we can transform anything to gold. This is a path to empowerment, a deep remembrance of something ancient within us, which many of us are being called to awaken.

The meeting of two opposites within a container, and then applying energy, is alchemy.   

Coming to rest at the dark side of the Moon in Gemini, we connect to the concept of the formless within form. So as the sun, slips into the depth of the night, so too does the light of the solar self - the mind - enter into the inner void. As we see, within the sacred tool of the body, we have an infinite chamber, the microcosm of the womb. To journey to this twilight zone, is the path of surrendering to something larger than you, which, paradoxical in nature, is contained within you. 

At a mythological level, we will be passing through the vast space of the womb, the cosmos within. Surrendering to the mystery of the feminine, which has the power to regenerate and transform. Unearthing our stellar selves, we can see with new eyes, that who we think we are in the light of day is 'limited', yet within the darkness of the feminine mystery, we become 'unlimited' - capable of shape-shifting into any number of forms; recognising our power to create, dancing with our own inner creatrix. 

As we begin to embody the wisdom within us, we can grow a deeper trust and sense of acceptance towards ourselves, honouring the inner knowing that we have when we let our intuition and our womb lead the way.

Ritual and myth

"A ritual is the enactment of a myth. And, by participating in the ritual, you are participating in the myth. And since myth is the projection of the depth of wisdom of the psyche, by participating in ritual, participating in myth, you are being, as it were, put in accord with that wisdom, which is the wisdom that is inherent within you anyhow. Your consciousness is being reminded of the wisdom of your own life." ~ Joseph Campbell

Following the methodologies of ritual, we undergo the process of separation from the mundane, transformation through weaving magic into being, and integration by expressing creatively our experiences. Using tools of shamanic practices, sound, breath, meditation, movement and womb yoga - we will uncover those parts of our inner being, that are often concealed behind the diaphanous veil, reclaiming our sexual sovereignty . 

Whilst we embrace these wildly uncertain times, this gathering will be a soothing balm to nourish the spirit, and to come together as a hive to honour the ways in which we are connected. The feminine principle in spirituality is all that is witnessed - ritual, dance, creativity, and emotion. Through coming together as a group, we experience the invisible web that connects us all, the matrix matris. Our experiences amplified through the collective journey, as we each meet with our own cista mystica, and witnessing the other, as she comes into her flowering.

What is shamanism?

Shamanism is the most ancient healing modality known to us, moreover - it is a way of life. Being cross cultural, it was practiced by all people before it became obscured by the rise of patriarchy and state religion. It deals with the ecological, psychological and spiritual crisis of humanity, and allows participants direct spiritual experience, recognizing that there is an other reality which can be worked with for the benefit of all beings. The word shaman originates from the Tungus tribe in Siberia. Anthropologists coined this term and have used it to refer to the spiritual and ceremonial leaders among indigenous cultures worldwide. The word shamanism can be used to describe the ancient spiritual practices of these indigenous cultures.

About your facilitator

Bryony is an initiate of a hidden, yet very much alive, ancient women's shamanic tradition, whose origins stem from the British Isles, Eastern Europe, and the temples of old in Greece, and Crete.

Having been a student and teacher of yoga for many years, specialising in Womb Yoga and Yoga Nidra, Bryony stumbled across this living pathway by a series of synchronicities and serendipitous events. This rich tradition leads the walkers of it's ways into a more empowered, and enriched life, equipping them with the tools to stand both firmly planted in the earth, whilst exploring their inner sensual and stellar selves. Skilled in bridging worlds and turning the mundane to magic, she invites those willing to dive deep, to come to the betwixt and between and discover the sweetness that it holds. 

The fusion of Bryony's training in yoga and shamanic practice allows her to navigate the architecture of holding sacred space - through ceremony, classes, workshops, retreats and one on one sessions. She offers alternative and nourishing methods for students and clients alike to discover their own medicine through movement, magic, myth and mystery school teachings. 

Hers is an ongoing inquiry - committed to the path of learning and discovery, she continues to develop her work through shamanic and yoga training and a dedicated daily practice.

Preparation

Instructions on how to join will be included in your confirmation email. 

~Due to the womb-centric nature of this work, it is open to womb-keepers, whether or not you still have your physical womb, those who identify as women and non-binary arevwelcome. It is for those individuals who seek a stronger connection to their inner Creatrix.

~A blindfold and some blankets & cushions may assist in some of the practices, along with a journal and some simple drawing materials.

~You are invited to set up a small altar in the room you will be working in, to set a sacred space for yourself. This can include for example a candle, flowers and any items that reflect to you the nature of the earth.

~It would be helpful to be working in a quiet space in which you won't be disturbed, having some space to move, and the lighting dimmed.
