Women in Psychedelics: The Science

 

Learn from female researchers and facilitators about the science and application of psychedelic pharmacology and psychedelics therapies for women.

 

CHARITY PROCEEDS

The intentions with the fundraising effort are to support general operations for Hystelica's research and advocacy efforts, specifically our current study on microdosing for menopause , as well as the development of future educational courses. We are currently developing a course for facilitators and courses on condition specific indications for psychedelics and women's mental health, such as eating disorders and post-traumatic stress disorder.

ABOUT THE EVENT

About Hystelica

Hystelica is a start up in London whose focus is researching, advocating, and educating for safe and effective psychedelic use for women, and ensuring that the specific needs of women are considered in the future of psychedelics.

Join us for an educational evening to explore the current state of research and application of female specific considerations and applications of psychedelics. 

Hear from 3 leading female experts in psychedelics research. The expert panel will be discussing the latest science of the interactions between ovarian hormone systems and psychedelic pharmacology, female informed psychedelics therapy in clinical trials, and the future of psychedelic research for women's health.

The expert panel will also discuss the current state of women's research in the psychedelic industry, emerging advocacy efforts to ensure that the specific needs of women are considered in the future of psychedelics, followed by a panel discussion.
 

SCHEDULE

1800: Introduction by Dr. Grace Hopley Blest on Hystelica's mission to create a community of women in psychedelics 

1815: Presentation from Dr. Zahira Cohen, post-doctoral researcher at Cambridge, on female specific psychoneurobiology in  psychedelic clinical trials

1845: Presentation from Aleksandra Wingert, PhD candidate at the Centre for Psychedelic Research at Imperial College, on her work on microdosing classical psychedelics and inclusive experimental design for women

1915: Presentation from Dr. Grace Blest-Hopley on psychosocial dimensions of women's mental health as it related to psychedelic therapies and the current state and future of psychedelic research for women

1945: Panel discussion between all 3 speakers and closing remarks

EXPERT PANEL 

Dr. Grace Hopley 

Dr. Grace Blest-Hopley is the founder of Hystelica and a neuroscientist with a Ph.D from King’s College London. She has spent 10 + years research the effects of cannabinoids and psychedelics; across clinical, recreational and naturalistic settings.

Dr. Zahira Cohen 

Dr. Zahira Cohen is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Cambridge and a clinical research fellow at Imperial College London, where she focuses on female-specific psycho-neuro-biology and psychedelic assisted therapies.

Aleksandra Wingert

Aleksandra Wingert is a doctoral candidate at the Centre for Psychedelic Research at Imperial College, researching the application of microdosing classical psychedelic substances. She is at the forefront of psychedelic research at Imperial College London, her role as a PhD candidate meshes with active coordination of cutting-edge studies such as the Microdosing 2.0 project.
