Come and join us for our first community herbal gathering.
This is a space to play, drop into your body, connect with others, play and meet the plants directly through your bodies wisdom.
We’ll gather outdoors on the Heath for a sweet, informal plant meeting with Rose. We'll explore movement using the heath as our inspiration and paired exercises using touch to drop into our bodies. Out of the head and into body wisdom. We’ll take time to arrive more fully in ourselves so we can arrive more fully with Rose. Step out of the fast pace of London life and tune into a more-than-human way of being.
This gathering is open to everyone—from those already walking a plant path to anyone who is curious to connect with plants beyond their ‘usefulness’ and learn from them directly. No prior knowledge is needed, just a willingness to be present with the plants and each other.
This is a playful exploration of the more than human reality that we can access even in the city. This is a space to make connection with like hearted people and enjoy rolling around the field for a few hours.
Your welcome to a bring-something-to-share for a picnic for after the session if you’d like to stay on and enjoy the heath.
Bring along:
- Clothes you can move comfortably in
- Something to sit on
- A Rose that smells
- Something for a picnic if you'd like to stay after
Hosted by:
Charlotte Gordon: Forager, Intuitive Herbalist, community food grower and chef. An all round plant person! There is a curious question when it comes to foraging - we are often asked, ‘what is this good for?’ so Charlotte’s teaching go beyond this question to consider the relationship between food and medicine and what happens when we begin to have an intimate relationship with the life cycles of the plants around us.
Claire Loussouarn: Claire weaves together her expertise as a movement artist, teacher, insight herbalist, filmmaker, anthropologist and author to create work that dissolves the boundaries between human and the more-than-human world. She is the author of How to Be Feral: Movement Practices to Re-Wild Your Body, through which she guides others in rediscovering their innate connection to the natural world and their own embodied wisdom. Claire holds regular movement classes in London Fields.
