Dark Eros: The Intimate Social

Foundations of Rope play and exploring the energy of polarity and taboo. A play and practice space.

Following the familiar format of previous Ritual Eros events, this will be a semi-facilitated space. We will start with and opening circle at 7pm, then some games and exercises, followed by a rope workshop guided by Zuberi, before transitioning into a more open play space with gentle support from the facilitators and assistants. Completing with a closing circle  and carriages at 1am.

After a winter of hibernation and transformation, Ritual Eros is awakening into 2024 with new iterations of our well loved intimate social as well as several new workshops and parties. The Intimate Socials have run over the last two years as an accessible, playful, semi facilitated fusion of various somatic practices that gradually open up into a play space for folks to connect, explore, cultivate and celebrate eros life force energy, and build intimacy and connection within the crucible of community.

Our first event of 2024 is the Dark Eros - Intimate Social which will be hosted at the world famous Anatomie Studios in Peckham, South London.

Expect a fusion of the Intimate Social container, with new flavours of shibari guidance, polarity exercises, power dynamics, impact play, gentle kink explorations and more.

As always we will open and close with a circle, everything is an invitation, and we will have trained facilitators and assistants on hand throughout the evening to support you in your learning and play.

As with all Ritual Eros events this is sober from alcohol and hard drugs.

Please arrive from 6:30pm for a 7pm opening circle. The facilitation will run until about 10pm, giving you plenty of time to create your own adventures together after.

While there is no commitment for you to stay until the end, there will be a closing circle at 12:30 and carriages are at 1am.

Tickets are £75pp (Early Bird £65, ends 7th April)

We split the tickets into approximately 50% Couples, and 50% Singles. If you are buying a couples ticket please be aware that you will be PAL’s for the evening (responsible for each other’s behaviour) and may be asked to work together in some of the games and exercises.

About the team: 

Drew Lawson - the founder of AloolA and Ritual Eros. Drew is an embodiment coach, Sexological Bodyworker, breathworker, ecologist and community builder.  His life’s passion and practice is to encourage life into a more intimate experience of itself, and explore the union between self, other, planet and the mystery. He is known for his pragmatic approach, strong boundaries, deep empathy, playful encouragement and clear facilitation.

Drew works primarily with modalities drawn from the yoga and tantra traditions, infused with Western sexology, Trauma Release Exercises, Non Linear Movement, Shadow-work and Authentic Relating. The art and science of breathing sits at the heart of all of Drew’s work.

Zuberi Rope - Drawing on a background including, martial arts, tantra and shiatsu, Zuberi, (he/him), brings some element of all of these disciplines to his rope practice. Since his introduction to shibari/kinbaku in 2014, he has experienced many styles, from the traditional system of Naka Akira to the more modern style of Fred Hatt, and is always keen to study and learn new systems and pass on this knowledge in his teachings.

As Black and British from an African descent, Zuberi supports and encourages sex-positive and body-positive kink in the BAME community.

Agreements:

To create a community, events and spaces that allow us to explore from a place of both freedom and connection, we ask that all members agree to, and follow, the agreements. If you feel anyone is contravening the agreements then please let an admin know by direct message. Anyone found to be not honouring these will be invited into a conversation, and potentially removed from the group.

5. We agree to get regularly tested for STIs, and take full responsibility for our fluid boundaries with others. Ritual Eros cannot take responsibility for the sexual health of any of its members, and anyone disrespecting this will be asked to leave immediately.

6. We agree to honour any existing relationship structures.

7. We agree to practice verbal consent. No always means no; no explanation is necessary.

8. We agree to maintain an inclusive space, where all genders, sexual preferences, and relationship structures are welcome.

9. We agree to keep our focus on the art, practice and celebration of erotic and energetic life force cultivation, SxMgk Manifestation, intimacy and connection within all Ritual Eros spaces. This is not a political or social justice forum.

10. We agree to keep everything that happens within the group and any of the groups events confidential, and to avoid discussing any happenings outside the group in any way that could identify other members. This also includes sharing any text or images that are posted in the group without the owner's explicit permission, or the names or other identifiers of any members in the group or group’s events.

Confidentiality: Who and what you see here, stays here, you may share the spirit of your experience (Chatham House Rule).

Phones: Please keep your phones away, and keep them away until you leave the party. Please do not take any recordings. We have paper and pencils for number swaps.

Please note that whilst we endeavour to keep a relative gender balance at our events, we cannot guarantee you will be partnered with your preference. Every practice is an invitation, and if you’re not willing to practice with someone of a gender that isn’t your sexual preference, this may not be the space for you.
