About The Event 

The neural dynamics of altered states of consciousness have been the focus of robust scientific inquiry in recent times, but we don't just live in our brains, we live in a whole body. 

An emerging field of inquiry in neuroscience is the role of the body and the autonomic nervous system during altered states of consciousness, both accessed through practices like psychedelics and breathwork. 

Neuroscience is finally starting to come around to the idea that the brain is IN a body. 

Join us for an evening of talks on the emerging field of neuroscience research "Non-ordinary autonomic states" and learn from active researchers working in psychedelic science, breathwork science, and somatic practice.

Your Facilitator 

Lana Power is a neuroscience researcher, educator and breathwork facilitator based in Frankfurt, Germany and London, England. She teaches neuroscience to professionals in the healing and wellness industry and is a researcher for the 'Exhaling the Past' research project at the Ernst Strungmann Institute for Neuroscience, investigating the brain and body during high ventilation breathwork and its capacity to improve socio-emotional functioning in people with histories of childhood trauma.

Your Organiser

Callum is an event coordinator for The Psychedelic Society and a life-long learner in the exploration of consciousness. He has completed a MSc in Medical Anthropology at University College London where he specialised in research on the phenomenology of consciousness, psychedelics and the therapeutic and healing arts in mystical traditions around the world. 

Callum regularly delivers talks and workshops on mental health, meditation and the breath to companies, groups and festivals across the UK. He is an advocate of transformative and psychedelic experiences that are grounded in transpersonal and somatic philosophy and psychology. These are the experiences that cultivate the experience and wisdom to remember and embody our connection with ourselves, others, nature and the beyond. Follow Callum on Instagram at @calibraid
