Embodied Deep Ecology
a 6-week course into the cultivation of an expanding ecological-Self
In an age of deracination, disconnection and distraction we feel a yearning to belong. This group-led enquiry is a potent antidote to stuckness; an opportunity to co-create and inhabit a lived experience of profound connection and active hope.
It is a quest into embodied animistic philosophy, rooted ecological belonging and the inhabiting of the world you wish to create through the healing of our inner and outer landscapes.
Have you felt uprooted by mainstream monoculture? Weeded from over-tilled soil that threw out community and diversity, beaten by its machinery of ‘progress’? What are the stories keeping you from rooting deeper?
“This experience has been life changing for me in so many ways, I have a new found acceptance, peace and connection to nature and myself that I didn't think was possible” — Laura Hodge
This course is designed to offer depth, sustenance and gravitas to your relationship with life. It is an animistic awakening, guiding you to become the researcher, curator and weaver of the wisdom threading your innate belonging. It serves as a form of human-land spirit ecology, finding ways to compost what needs to be composted, and ways to water and nourish what yearns to be rewilded.
This course is born from the recognition that our problem is a lonely one. Leaving the monoculture of the mainstream is hard. It expels us into doubt, scrutiny and many, many unknowns. Carving our way with our hearts and eyes open requires courage of a new kind.
This is for you if…
- You desire to compost un-wellness (societally, ecologically, spiritually,
personally) and garden medicine for thriving life
- You are experiencing eco-anxiety, eco-grief, motionlessness/burnout, a lack of belonging, uprootedness, and a longing to deepen your sense of
connection and purpose
- You desire to awaken your animalistic sense of interbeing
- You yearn to cultivate community, connection and bio-socio-resilience
- You seek to actively rewild your practices and deconstruct the prescription of mainstream monoculture
Complementative to psychedelic integration…
This course also acts as a colossal psychedelic integration programme that embodies the common biophilic expansion and transmission granted by entheogenic encounters and explores themes of animistic philosophy as an alternative exploration into our understanding of consciousness.
If you are looking to deeply integrate psychedelic experiences, we recommend combining this course with drop in psychotherapist-lead integration circles, as the content and councils will help you ground these experiences into embodiment, action and long-lasting healing and connection.
We recognise the pathway psychedelics provide to this work and will honour your process if you wish to combine this course in such a way.

“Every single moment made me go deeper and deeper into my heart. Remember. Reconnect. Unfold.” — Zasha Patek
“This was definitely a powerful and transformative journey which took me to the unknown shoreside of my inner self. It felt like embodying a new flesh, taming new sensations, embracing new forms on a constant discovery or rediscovery of scents and visions as if the world was unveiling itself for the first time before my eyes." — Elisa Henny
“Veronica’s deep love of the earth, of song & plants, of binding, gathering & weaving people & land together impacts you deeply. A profound thank you” — Sarah McCunn
“Ben is so knowledgeable about the living world around us. I wish I could keep him in my pocket on every adventure into my bioregion, wisely whispering the folkloric knowledge of the plants and trees. I’ve learnt so much from this experience” — Angela Clemant
YOUR FACILITATORS
Veronica Stanwell
As a multidisciplinary healing and creative arts practitioner, I weave soma, land, ceremony and song into intimate explorations for connection, healing and growth. MSc studentship in Consciousness + Transpersonal Psychology with the Alef Trust, alongside work with Rooted Healing (as founder + director), are driven by my fascination with the fabric of life and belonging.
My background in professional theatre continues to guide my work, where I carry reverence for the power of story, music, expression, catharsis and playfulness. A childhood immersed in wild Welsh lands gave me a viscerally intimate connection with my beloved bioregion. I have co-curated Deepen Your Roots in response to my own eco-grief and through an embodied experience of the returning and remembering of my own indigenous essence.
Ben Stopford
I am a facilitator, gardener & gatherer living in the heart of Eryri (Snowdonia), North Wales, offering the creation of wild-culture gardens & the pollination of foraging for food, medicine & connection to place. I hold a PGDip in Sustainable Food & Natural Resources & a BA in Philosophy, Religion and Spanish.
My group work stems from 'The Work That Reconnects' and contemporary Rites of Passage (vision quest), where I undertook two trainings in the art of facilitation for transformation.
I now facilitate programmes in Deep Ecology/Bioregionalism, foraging, wild-cultured gardening and initiation ceremonies all guided by a deep-rooted, nature-based philosophy. I also love to bake bread, hike & read books.
