Join us every other Sunday at the stunning Colwick Country Park for a unique outdoor experience of Ecstatic Dance, hosted by SoulMvt Events. Through the grounding power of barefoot movement, the heart-opening sharing of ceremonial cacao, and the immersive atmosphere created by silent disco headsets, we invite you into a space of presence, connection, and liberation. 

💃🏽 What is Ecstatic Dance? 

Ecstatic Dance is a conscious, freeform movement practice where music becomes the guide and your body leads the way. There are no steps to learn, no choreography to follow, and no pressure to perform—just an open invitation to express, release, and reconnect.

The space is held with intention and care, allowing each dancer to journey inward, outward, or somewhere in between. Whether you move wildly or rest in stillness, all is welcome.

📜 Ecstatic Dance Guidelines

To support a safe and intentional space, we ask all dancers to honour the following guidelines:

• No talking on the dancefloor
   
• No use of phones during the session
   
• Dance barefoot where possible

• Substance-free event
   
• Respect for personal space and boundaries
   

This is a non-verbal, non-judgmental space to move with freedom, awareness, and integrity.

🌱 The Healing Power of Dancing Barefoot Outdoors

There is something profoundly restorative about dancing with bare feet on the Earth. This practice—known as grounding or earthing—helps regulate the nervous system, reduce inflammation, and restore a sense of inner balance.

When combined with music and movement, it becomes a powerful pathway back to self: to vitality, joy, and embodied presence. Our dance area is a serene green space enclosed by a stone wall, offering both containment and privacy for our dance journey. 

A Cacao Sharing – A Sacred Opening

Each session begins with a sharing of the cacao, a revered plant medicine known for its ability to gently open the heart, enhance mood, and deepen the connection between body and spirit.

🎧 Why Silent Disco Headsets?

To fully immerse you in the music, each participant receives a silent disco headset on arrival. This creates a deeply personal and focused soundscape, allowing you to stay connected to the flow of music while tuning out external distractions.

These headsets are ideal for outdoor spaces, letting us respect the natural environment and the wider community while maintaining a rich, high-quality sound experience. The headsets use radio waves instead of bluetooth and very safe for our precious brains. 

With only 35 headsets available per session, we recommend booking early to secure your place.

📍 Location: Colwick Country Park, End of, Racecourse Rd, Nottingham NG2 4BH

🚗 Parking: Use the Racecourse Road Car Park — clearly marked signs will guide you to the dance space from there
🚌 Public Transport: Take Nottingham City Transport Bus No. 44 to Colwick Racecourse Stop, then walk a short distance to the car park
🚻 Toilets: Approximately a 12-minute walk from the dance space — please plan ahead
📱 WhatsApp Group: A link to join our group will be shared after booking, so we can support you with directions and connection on the day
📍 A Google Maps pin will also be included in your confirmation email
