As the nights grow long and the air turns sharp, we’ll gather to stoke the fire of our dancing bodies. This one-day workshop weaves the quiet depth of somatic listening with the physical intensity of Contact Improvisation—warming us from the inside out, and bringing brightness into these darker days.

Through subtle tuning and listening practices, we’ll deepen our capacity to sense, respond, and move with freedom. Whether you’re new to CI or a seasoned mover, you’ll find tools and experiences to expand your movement vocabulary, heighten awareness, and trust your instincts, impulses, and intuition.

We’ll balance restful, spacious solo explorations with the dynamic heat of partner work—playing with momentum, suspension, falling, and swinging, alongside moments of stillness. The pace will ebb and flow: slowing down to catch the quiet cues of fascia and breath, then igniting into full-bodied, responsive movement.

This day is an invitation to nourish yourself in winter—finding warmth in connection, lightness in play, and resilience in the meeting point of softness and strength. Together, we’ll create a space where dances can be both grounded and fiercely alive, rooted in deep listening and shared movement.
