It’s possible to write dull poetry, poetry that will never be read. It’s possible to write poetry that risks nothing, doesn’t taste of mystery, reveals your soul to nobody, and ultimately serves no one.
This is *not* the kind of poetry we want to help you write.
We are two professional poets who want to help you write with the potency you’ve always dreamed of. We love poetry that's a creature of both heaven and earth; that speaks plainly of things that shift the soul; words that have depths and heights, and make the hidden fibres of the world sing.
The three values at the centre of our teaching are
- True speaking
- Real people
- Intrepid eloquence
We call it the Poetry of Feral Angels. If you feel that phrase calling to you, then take the risk and join us.
Our aim for these weekends is for you to be able to claim more space as your genuine self. Come away fizzing with presence and vision, significantly closer to writing the poetry you want to write.
In conversation, and through written and embodied exercises, we’ll be covering
- Practices of deep listening, to our inner worlds, our bodies and the world beyond us.
- Finding our authentic voice(s), and writing from places of wildness, of unequivocal, unconditional welcome.
- Voicing the inner pantheon and reclaiming our exiled parts, to be witnessed in all our glory and misery.
- Addressing our personal divinities, muses and daemons
- Moving towards a heightened sense of personal poetic mission, to begin the journey of understanding our own poetic values.
- Becoming part of our growing community of eloquent souls
And this is just scratching the surface - the whole weekend is a feast of poetic nutrition for your creative journey.
“f**k mindblowing, Feral Angels Poetry Camp is soulblowing”
“Invaluable in plumbing the depths of poetic language”
“Writing techniques that will stir your soul and encourage you to pull at threads, giving a new dimension to your practice”
“A wellspring of thoughtfulness… A pairing of great knowledge with curiosity and spaciousness… The endless delight, and the raw honesty.”
“A sacred, real and loving space... a well-rounded and firmly rooted renewal of the soul”
