Movement Medicine x Ecstatic Dance Hybrid Session
EDB combines the worlds of Ecstatic Dance and diverse dance music with prayer, mindfulness and ritual.
Using the practice of Ecstatic Dance we create a held space for you to express, expand and experience rejuvenation through movement, dance and sound.
The experience is a modern day ritual where the communion of people, movement and sound serve as mediums for transformation, liberation and soul invigorating celebration.
Our community gatherings are sober and suitable for all ages, abilities and people.
Come as you are. Dance as you please. Be your uniqueness.

Benjamin Tree ~ Movement Medicine x Ecstatic Dance
Benjamin Tree is a passionate and reverent Movement Medicine and Ecstatic Dance facilitator, and a dear friend of Ecstatic Dance Bristol.
As the wheel of the year turns towards Autumn Equinox, Benjamin looks forward to holding the dance for this beloved community once again. The natural cycles inside and out are always at the centre of his offerings. For him this is part of the power of embodiment practices; to reconnect us to our bodies, to the earth and to each other, restoring our place as part of nature.
He'll open the dance with a facilitated Movement Medicine journey to empower your connection to self, others and the wider community of life. Followed by a music-led Ecstatic Dance. As ever, weaving a deeper dive into inner landscapes with space to move to your body’s own rhythms. Combined with expansive arcs of rhythm and bass to empower and inspire your dance.

I loved the space and that you do this on Sunday morning. It was my first time and I would have liked more orientation re: schedule on arriving, or in an email. The event began at 10.30 but it didn't. During the dancing, three people were chatting. I didn't think a microphone was needed for speaking, it is nicer to hear a natural voice. Otherwise, I really enjoyed dancing and plan to come back in future, thank you.
Ace Collectiv replied
— Hey Philippa. Thanks for your feedback. The schedule for the session is included in the ticket confirmation email. Doors open at 10:30 and we play warm up music between 10:30 and 11:00 for people to arrive and stretch. The Opening Circle begins at 11:00. We always announce the Ecstatic Dance guidelines at the Opening Circle which include that's it's a non verbal space during the journey, however, some people disrespect this guideline. We try our best to ask people to be quiet or go else where if they really need to chat. We use the microphone to make sure everyone can hear the facilitator because sometimes not everyone can hear when the microphone is not used. We hope this helps. Thank you for joining the session. We hope that you come and dance with us again. Gratitude, Team EDB |

What a nourishing experience, I was feeling a bit introverted and wanted to experience the space in more of a gentle way. I loved to be able to relax on the sofas and absorb the incredible vocals, to pick some oracle cards and to then soak up the incredible Sound Bath. Thank you 🙏🏼
