Men’s Circle (fortnightly online)
Psychedelics open us up, and can uncover areas in our life that we want to focus on and/or shift. You may be questioning notions of masculinity, and one of things you might be reflecting on is your experience of being a man*.
Our experience of the world – and how other people treat us – is deeply rooted in the gender we are perceived as. The aim of our fortnightly online Men’s Circle is to bring men together to talk about these experiences. This will be a safe space in which you can freely discuss your experience of masculinity, being socialised as a boy / man, and issues relating to gender and patriarchy.
So, as a man: what’s it like to be you?
This is important work. From horrendous gender-based violence to shocking mental health outcomes for men, how do we heal masculinity to create a better world for all people? There’s a lot of blocks out there in the way of self-work, men’s work, the work of allyship – and, in mixed gender spaces, men can feel called out and shamed for showing up in the sometimes-detrimental ways society has conditioned them to be. This is a safe, single-gendered space to engage with this work – and you are welcome as you are.
What can I expect?
We will create a confidential closed container, beginning promptly at 7.30pm with a brief meditation and connection to self to land in the space (no late-comers allowed past 7.35pm so we can honour the container). Everyone will be given the opportunity to share something that is alive for them in their lives, with time amongst the group to share reflections and impact. In the second half of the circle, we will introduce a theme each week for discussion in breakout rooms, allowing you to share anything that comes up for you in relation to this. We’ll end by circling again, sharing any wisdom, difficulties, and aliveness from our breakouts.
We welcome people to attend every fortnight, or drop-in as you wish. Spaces are limited to 12 per session so that we can preserve the intimacy of the container. Please note this event is NOT directly related to psychedelics.
Who is this for?
*Our Men’s Circle is open to anyone identifying as male, including trans men and non-binary people socialised as boys and men. Ultimately, if you feel this is a space for you: you are welcome.
