Wombland Sleepover

Joy is not made to be a Crumb! Mary Oliver

This sleepover is to provide gateways to simple joys for those who experience challenges connected to their menstrual cycle, ovaries or womb. This might be a formal diagnosis, like pmdd, endometriosis or pcos. Or it may be that you experience challenges at certain times of the month and you’re not sure why. We welcome all ages, abilities, ethnicities, identities, sexualities, diagnoses and phases of the cycle.

Our experience is that acknowledgement can create ease and expression can make way for joy. This will be a space to laugh and cry, grieve and whirl, share knowledge and techniques, tell stories and feel heard.

Fresh air together

We are Liv Dowd and Amy Cooper; facilitators, ritual makers, artists and womb-carriers. We have our own individual experiences with our cycle. Liv has been formally diagnosed with PMDD for 4 years now and has gone on a bumpy, frustrating ride of navigating the NHS offerings, Amy has wide ranging and sometimes catatonic emotions at different times of her cycle which she is now much more comfortable with since engaging in more tracking and expressive arts to explore the feelings.

Big trees for big hugs

We have both benefited from online communities, books which gave us new language for our experience, friends who shared tips and tricks and all have gone some way to turn our unbearable emotions and pains into gentler waves.

However, we find in-person experiences the most nourishing and powerful. So, here is your invite to a cosy sleepover, a quiet place in nature, where we can listen and witness each other through some guided space, alongside topping up our joy buckets with:

  • Campfires
  • Delicious meals
  • Fresh water swimming & sauna
  • Knowledge sharing - learning what medication/herbs/hobbies/joys soothe your pain
  • Song sharing
  • Morning practice - meditation, journalling, sit spots
  • Learning gentle massage to perform on ourselves/each other
  • Simple embodiment practices that calm the nervous system
  • Crafts
  • Open Mic - poems, songs, stories, show and tell.
  • Holistic hormone health workshop with Alisa Connan (See more info below )

These will all be on offer and be completely optional. There will be ample time to rest and we will do our best to design a gathering which works for those attending.

Where? We will be in a wonderful regenerative agriculture farm with lots of space to roam and get muddy and plenty of warm, dry spaces to get cosy in after.

Tell us… We ask you to fill in a form once you've signed up with any access needs, dietary requirements or anything  to share with us that might make you feel more comfortable. And anything you want to bring and share with a group.

When?

Tuesday 25th March: Arrive for lunch 2pm

Thursday 27th March: Depart 4 pm

Midweek: We chose midweek to have a more affordable offer. If you can't make it but want to be kept in the loop for future events please do get in touch with Liv o.a.dowd@gmail.com

Accommodation: There is one main sleepover space, the Giant Bunk House, with handcrafted bunks for adults, a total of 10 beds. So bring your pyjamas, eye mask, earplugs, whatever you need. We think there is something special about sleeping in a room with other people, sharing night time tea and toothpaste, occasional snores, sleep talks and threads of dreams in the morning. We know it isn’t for everyone and if everything else about this weekend appeals except the sleepover bit then please get in touch. We will do our best to accommodate you.

Useful things to bring for comfort:

  • Thermals and layers
  • Towel
  • Indoor footwear or slippers
  • Outdoor walking footwear
  • Earplugs & eye mask if you need for sleeping
  • Hot water bottle for extra cosiness.

We are super excited that Alisa Connan will be joining this gathering, hormone health coach and founder of Nourish+Power, she will be offering an insightful and practical workshop. Whether you're navigating perimenopause, PCOS, endometriosis, or simply looking to better understand your body, this talk will offer strategies to support your energy, mood, and overall well-being.

Alisa will share holistic tools to help steady your nervous system, support hormone health, and ease common symptoms like painful periods, fatigue, bloating, and mood swings—so you can feel more in tune with your body and more confident in your health journey.

During your stay, you’ll have the opportunity to book a 30-minute 1:1 consultation with Alisa to explore your unique health challenges and gain personalised support. To secure your session email: hello@nourishandpower.com Thank you Alisa for this generous offer!
