In this talk I examine what it means to offer psychedelic care to others, through the lens of the myth of Chiron. Chiron, the mythical centaur, is also known as the wounded healer. Chiron's story can shed light on an important phase on the path towards supporting others through psychedelic (and) healing journeys. This phase is captured in the famous line of Delphi's oracle - know thyself. Without fully knowing the depths of oneself, a practitioner is prone to harming the very clients they seek to support. By exploring the healing impulse, we gain insight into how even the best intentions can result in significantly harming those under our care.

After these more mytho-poetic and theoretical meanderings we slowly settle in the everyday concrete reality of psychedelic practice and explore how the practices of supervision, apprenticeship, peer-supervision and self-assessment can reduce the risk of harming clients. Participants are offered some important questions to ask themselves and guidelines to engage in self-assessment. This will help them shine light on their own shadow and promote only competent practitioners to start working with clients.

Talk recording will be sent within a week to all registered participants.

About your Speaker

Daan Keiman has worked in the field of psychedelic care for over 15 years and has guided hundreds of clients through psychedelic experiences - yet they have recently decided to step back from guiding group ceremonies in order to continue their studies and apprenticeship. Daan offers a sobering, grounded and down-to-earth perspective on psychedelic care. One that honors the unseen, the earth and the ancestors, and one that encourages practitioners to go slow and examine their own 'healing impulse'.

As always, this is a truly excellent Integration Circle. The level of authenticity and calm is nourishing and healing. Facilitators are humble and skilled. I would not miss this despite my journey to/from London to attend. Gratitude.

A safe non judgemental space to explore the deeper aspects of yourself. A space where you can feel safe enough to dive deeply into your emotions without fear of criticism.
