The Psychedelic Society is turning 10!

In 2014, we first began this organisation to create a space where people could explore the healing power of conscious practices in community (and this back when psychedelics were pretty far from the public consciousness). Over the last ten years, we've run hundreds of events and retreats, welcomed thousands of people to come grow, heal, connect and experienced the most profound deepening of this community.

So… we want to celebrate with you!

Join us for a day of workshops, talks, and taster sessions with some of our long-standing facilitators, partners, and friends and stay on until evening for an epic dance party, group singing, and sound healing.

What to expect

We're splitting this celebration into two parts. Join us for a diverse lineup of fascinating talks and panels covering all things psychedelic, from science & mental health to community-building.

DAYTIME MINI-FESTIVAL (11am-7pm)

THE HIVE

Opening ceremony 11am-12.30pm

Psychedelic Speed-Friending 12.30pm-1.30pm

Taking inspiration from the 36 Questions to Intimacy, this platonic friend ‘dating’ offers a menu of profound, intriguing, and spicy questions designed to inspire authenticity and deepen your connection with those around you.

BREAK

Keynote - The Bigger Picture of Psychedelics with Alexander Beiner 2.30pm-3.30pm

Individual and collective trauma has led us to the brink of catastrophic breakdown of societal and eco/bio-systems. Can psychedelics play a part in humanity’s response to this global crisis? Drawing on his acclaimed recent book, The Bigger Picture, Alexander Beiner will set the scene for the role of psychedelics in our future.

Panel - Bridging Worlds: Psychedelic Science and Indigenous Wisdom 3.30pm-4.30pm

A discussion and Q&A on the intersection between modern psychedelic science and the traditional use of psychedelics in healing and ritual. We’ll explore ethical tensions, appropriation, and opportunities for bridging these two worlds. This panel will feature researchers from Heroic Hearts UK and Onaya Science, two leading psychedelic research organizations that collaborate closely with indigenous ayahuasca-using communities in the Amazon.

PsyCare Workshop 5pm-6pm

An interactive workshop designed to help people understand potential physical and psychological risks associated with psychedelics and how to support someone who is going through a challenging psychedelic experience.

BREAK

THE SHALA

Layers of Consciousness with Shamil Chandaria and Amir Giles 12.30pm-1.30pm

Whether your ways to go beyond are through psychedelics or sound, meditation, or movement, you can expect to further understand altered states and how to integrate the deepest layers of consciousness with everyday reality. Shamil will discuss his model of consciousness with Amir and how it integrates the leading theories of consciousness and perception. This is followed by a practical session in which a series of thought experiments, guided meditations, and perception games will give you a taste of the many wonders your mind has to offer:

Mind Games for Modern Mystics with Shamil Chandaria and Amir Giles 1.30pm-2.30pm

A series of thought experiments, guided meditations, and perception games will give you a taste of the many wonders your mind has to offer. Based on the Layers of Consciousness talk.

Wild Play Lab with Dani Tonks 2.30pm-3.30pm

This workshop uses play, creative meditation, and improvisation to bring awareness to our unconscious behavioral patterns and consciously dismantle our limiting habits in a fun, accessible, and safe environment. This is a deep and powerful practice of getting ‘out of our heads’ and trusting the wisdom of our bodies.

Altered States Breathwork with Jez Grattan Kane 3.30pm-4.30pm

A journey of conscious-connected breathwork, where you’ll be guided through circular breathing and breath-holds to induce shifts in your conscious state. The effects of this breathwork can be anything from soothing and gentle through to a full-body emotional release and psychedelic potential.

Sensorium with Dia 4.30pm-6pm

Our senses are the portals to our human experience. This is a space to relax, and surrender to sensations of play and pleasure. Let yourself be taken on a sacred journey through your senses. In pairs, you will take turns being blindfolded and exploring taste, touch, smell, and energy with one another.

Earth Rhythms with Alana Bloom 6pm-7pm

Attune to the world’s cyclical patterns and discover the map of the wheel of the year as a portal for deep connection with the land, your community and your inner world. During this hour long experiential workshop we will explore the seasonal qualities we find prevalent in the northern hemisphere, especially within the British Isles, co- creating an altar that honours and celebrates the different qualities that exist in each point.

An array of stalls from partner organizations and vendors All day

We’ll be selling psychedelic art from visionary artists like Harry Pack and different herbal medicines to bring about energy, relaxation, or an overall health kick. There will also be information stalls from psychedelic research and advocacy groups, so you can chat to and learn directly from those in the industry.
