Ever wondered how garlic can transform a dish — from its bold raw bite to its sweet, mellow roasted flavour? Join Grow Cook Learn for a hands-on Garlic Workshop at Reimagine Co. in London, Ontario, on October 8. You’ll taste, cook, and learn all about this kitchen essential — while enjoying a garlic-themed community meal together!

Date: October 8

Time: Doors open at 5:45 PM, workshop begins at 6:00 PM

Location: Reimagine Co., London, Ontario – https://reimagineco.ca

What You’ll Experience

  • Connect & Share: We’ll start with a fun icebreaker to get everyone comfortable, then introduce the London Community Resource Centre and our community garden.
  • Garlic Spotlight: Discover the fascinating history of garlic, its health benefits, and tips for growing it at home — yes, you can plant it in the fall!
  • Taste Test Demo: Watch and help create two simple spreads in the food processor — raw garlic vs. roasted garlic — and enjoy them with crackers.
  • Hands-On Cooking: Roll up your sleeves and join your group in preparing a delicious garlic-inspired dinner, featuring dishes like Garlic Chickpea & Spinach Stew, Rustic Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans with Garlic Scapes, Garlic-Lemon Salad, and Garlic Bread with Roasted Garlic Spread.
  • Dinner & Reflection: Sit down to a shared meal, discuss your favourite flavours, and explore new ways to use garlic at home.
  • Wrap-Up & Takeaways: Leave with recipes, new cooking skills, and plenty of garlic inspiration for your own kitchen!
