Discover the Enchanting World of the Flying Ointment: Witchcraft, Magic & Mystery Step into the shadowy garden of witchcraft’s most notorious potion - the Flying Ointment. Inspired by folklore, magic, and medicine, this interactive and sensory workshop invites you to uncover the secrets behind the so-called “Witching Herbs” - Datura, Henbane, Belladonna, Mandrake and more — those potent plants both magnificent and maleficent. 

Who were the witches who brewed this enigmatic concoction? Where do these mystical plants grow, and what ancient powers do they hold? Dive deep into their stories, folklore, and their use in historic sex magic rituals — including the surprising, cheeky connection to “wanking rituals” — as the ointment was often applied to sensitive areas to induce visionary flights. 

From the enchanted flower beds to the shadowy woodlands, explore the magic behind these plants and how their poisons became a healer’s medicine chest. This talk will reveal their herbal gifts and how we might harness their power safely today. 

Whether you’re a Harry Potter fan curious about the real magic behind the myths, or a seeker of esoteric knowledge and herbal lore, this workshop offers a thrilling whistle-stop tour into the mysterious world of flying ointments and witchcraft’s most potent potions.

Your Facilitators

Fiona Heckels and Kaz Goodweather, the Seed Sistas, are clinical herbalists, authors, and co-founders of Sensory Solutions Herbal Evolution CIC. With over two decades of experience, they blend scientific herbalism with intuitive plant magic to inspire healing and reconnection with nature. Through their books The Sensory Herbal Handbook and Poison Prescriptions, they share accessible, community-focused herbal knowledge. Their latest creation, The Sensory Herbal Oracle Cards, invites users to explore plant wisdom through intuitive guidance and ritual. Through immersive learning, community support, and creative projects, the Seed Sistas continue to make herbal education vibrant, inclusive, and empowering.

Callum is an event coordinator for The Psychedelic Society and a life-long learner in the exploration of consciousness. He has completed a MSc in Medical Anthropology at University College London where he specialised in research on the phenomenology of consciousness, psychedelics and the therapeutic and healing arts in mystical traditions around the world. 

Callum regularly delivers talks and workshops on mental health, meditation and the breath to companies, groups and festivals across the UK. He is an advocate of transformative and psychedelic experiences that are grounded in transpersonal and somatic philosophy and psychology.
