The Psychedelic Debates, an in-person gathering to discuss the most pressing, perplexing, and powerful ideas shaping the psychedelic experience.

This is a monthly discussion and debate event designed to cultivate a space for meaningful discussion and new connections between curious minds.

Up for debate this month:

Can the psychedelic experience be explained by science alone, or is there something more..?

‘Was it all in my head?’

At some point, every psychonaut is confronted by this doubtful question - no matter how profound our trip.

This month we'll be delving into the tension between the supernatural and scientific, and their competing explanations for the psychedelic experience.

Is there something at play that science can't explain when it comes to psychedelics? Did I really meet the divine or was it just a trick of the mind?

Whether you’re convinced that psilocybin reconnects us to a higher power, or that it’s a compound reconnecting different parts of the brain, join us for a lively, free-spirited discussion of a fascinating question.

No need for polished speaking skills or sharp rhetoric to join - just an open mind, a sense of curiosity, and a love of playing devil’s advocate.

Location & getting there

We will be meeting in the downstairs function room at the The Regent Pub in Islington. They also offer a great menu so please feel free to order food or drinks at the bar downstairs when you arrive and bring it down with you.

A fabulous event with excellent organization and so many like-minded people! There wasn’t a single moment or program I didn’t enjoy—in fact, I loved all of them. I’d like to give a special shoutout to Carly B, who was everywhere and has put in so much effort to hold the space and ensure everything ran smoothly.
