We're pleased to announce a weekly homeschool yoga class, starting October 3rd.

This is 10-week session running every Thursday morning. The classes will take place in the community event space at Reimagine Co (206 Piccadily St in downtown London). It’s easy to get to by bus and free parking is available.

About the Yoga Class

We are working with a wonderful instructor, Jaime Burnham, who specializes in children’s yoga. The class is recommended for ages 4 to 10 (there's some flexibility, though).

This is a family class, and parents are encouraged (but not required) to participate, too! Please bring a yoga mat(s) for you and your child(ren). If you don't have yoga mats, a bath towel, blanket or sheet will do. :)

Pricing is on a sliding scale (details below) in order to make the session affordable to all families. This is not a drop-in class; to foster consistency and community, we are asking families to sign up for the entire ten-week session. If you have to miss one or more sessions that's absolutely fine!

Mindful Mornings

The yoga class runs from 11:00 to 11:45. We can add extra parent-led activities before and after to make it into a two-hour program if there is sufficient interest - when you sign up, we'll ask you some questions about this. The suggested timetable could be something like this:

  • 10:30 to 11:00 Meditation & Circle time
  • 11:00 to 11:45 Yoga
  • 11:45 to 12:30 Movement, other activity, or free play

We need a minimum of 6 students registered by September 25th in order to proceed with the class. The maximum number of students is 15.

If you have any questions about anything at all, please email 1heenal@gmail.com

Sliding Scale Pricing Model

We recognize that different families have different financial circumstances and we don't want to exclude anyone because of inability to pay. At the same time, we want to give those whose means are more abundant the opportunity to contribute more.

The sliding scale starts at $50 (just $5 per class!) and goes up to $150. All prices are per child - parents always go free :) We encourage parents to take part in yoga, too, but this is optional.

Please choose the highest amount that you can comfortably afford to pay. This works on an honour system!

  • Please only select the $50 option if you are on a low income or otherwise unable to pay more.
  • If you have abundant resources, please select the $150 option, as this will enable us to make this program available to more families and to offer more homeschool programming in the future.
  • Most people should select an option somewhere in the middle of the sliding scale.

Not sure if you are on a low income? Individual circumstances vary greatly, but as a general rule, if any of the following apply, you would not be considered to have a low income:

  • You own your own home
  • Your household has more than one car
  • Your household made more than $60,000 last year (before taxes)

If you're not sure how much to pay, please reach out to 1heenal@gmail.com or simply pay the highest amount that you can afford.

We understand that this sliding scale system differs from how services are usually exchanged in our society and appreciate that it forces us to think a bit differently about price, value, and contribution. This is new territory for us as well, so please forgive us if we have designed or communicated this poorly! We encourage feedback and welcome the opportunity to develop this model together as a community.
