Support Makam Salam: A Middle-Eastern Collective Concert for Just Peace
Join us in making an unforgettable night of music, unity, and connection possible. This is the first collaboration in London bringing together Palestinian, Israeli, and Middle Eastern artists and activists for an evening dedicated to peace, coexistence, and mutual understanding, and standing against war, violence, oppression and hatred. We are here to create understanding and peace - starting here with us.
About the Event
This concert unites renowned musicians and peace advocates in calling for an end to violence, war, and oppression. Through music, personal stories, poetry, and interactive experiences, we’ll journey together toward inner peace and shared empathy, hoping to inspire ripples of peace that reach far beyond this night.
- Our Mission: We are here to build bridges towards peace — from within ourselves, between ourselves, and rippling out in the world. Standing together on the side of peace, empathy, and shared humanity, we call for an immediate ceasefire and hostage deal - and for a peaceful, just, and equal future for everyone in the holy land and beyond. We denounce aggression, hostility, and division, and instead cultivate peace as a way of life through empathy, understanding, and open dialogue, which we will facilitate through an artistic journey.
- Fundraising for Peacebuilding: All proceeds beyond costs will support peace-building organizations in the region: Standing Together and Women of the Sun, two remarkable charities working to build a just and peaceful future in the region.
Why We Need Your Help
To make this impactful event happen, we’re raising funds for essential costs such as venue hire, equipment rental, and travel for artists arriving from across Europe and even the Middle East. Every contribution, however small, will help bring this evening of peace and unity to life.
Where Your Donation Will Go:
- Venue Hire. Venues are costly in London.
- Equipment Rental and costs
- Artist Travel and Accommodation: Supporting artists and activists travelling from the Middle East and Europe, and even local artists necessary transportation costs related expenses.
- Vendors & event-related costs
- Artist compensation: We are here to do good, and we need to be fair to the professional artists too. The artists will split a nominal compensation for their (long and considerable) effort which went into this work.
- Charity Donations: All proceeds beyond the costs above will go directly to grassroots organizations dedicated to peacebuilding and social justice in the region: Women of the Sun and Standing Together.
