Ecstatic dance meets shadow work with cacao activation

Mythic Movement is a new dance practice that weaves imagination, emotional release, and self-inquiry into an embodied journey through music and movement.

In this practice, we explore five archetypal energies – each representing distinct aspects of our inner landscape. By moving with these energies, we learn to welcome every part of ourselves and come into deeper wholeness.

This evening’s ceremony is open to women, trans women, and non-binary people (AFAB).
More on this below.

The Archetypes We Work With:

  • Fool / Maiden – Innocence, Curiosity, Joy // Inertia, Helplessness, Depression
  • Warrior – Boundaries, Clarity, Direction // Aggression, Rigidity, Competitiveness
  • Lover – Pleasure, Creativity, Love // Manipulation, Codependency, Obsession
  • Sovereign / Queen – Service, Power, Purpose // Control, Abuse, Harshness
  • Sage / Priestess – Intuition, Sacredness, Space-holding // Disconnection, Dissociation, Delusion

Why We Do This

These archetypes live within our psyche, each carrying both healthy and shadow aspects. This movement practice is a space of deep inquiry – where we explore what feels natural and alive, where energy may be stuck, and where we're being invited to grow.

Working with the Shadow
Our over-culture often suppresses natural emotional expressions like sensuality, rage or grief – labelling them as taboo, immoral or unsafe. But what is repressed doesn’t disappear; it festers. Repressed rage becomes violence or self-hatred. Repressed desire becomes numbness or misdirected behaviour.
Here, we make space for the full spectrum – anger, joy, grief, pleasure, fear, longing – learning how to meet and move these energies with care, authenticity and respect.

Working with the Light
Just as the shadow aspects of self are suppressed in society, so too are some healthy expressions. Qualities such as healthy boundary setting, prioritising joy, or connecting to our spiritual nature are often underdeveloped or discouraged. Through Mythic Movement, you’ll have an embodied experience of the archetypes’ healthy qualities, by connecting with each one, inviting them into your body and into your dance, you'll leave with tools to access these qualities when needed in the outer world.

Who Is This For?

This ceremony is open to women, trans women, and non-binary people (AFAB). Each archetype will be explored through both femme and non-gendered expressions, with an emphasis on how femme gender conditioning has shaped – and at times suppressed – these energies.

This is a space to explore, reclaim, and free ourselves from limiting conditioning through the power of dance, embodiment, and collective expression.

Whether you're an experienced dancer or haven’t moved freely since childhood, whether you're feeling overwhelmed by life or simply curious – you are welcome. No dance experience is needed, only a willingness to be present.

This Work Is For You If You:

  • Want to know yourself more deeply and ally with your inner parts
  • Feel disconnected from your body’s wisdom and want to return home to it
  • Long to express yourself more freely and authentically
  • Are ready to release self-judgement and embrace self-acceptance
  • Are drawn to exploring the deeper mysteries of being human

Invitations in This Workshop May Include:

  • Expressing rage through movement and voice
  • Expressing sensuality through self-touch and dance
  • Nudity

All invitations are optional. Nothing is expected or required.

This is deep work – and participants are expected to take full responsibility for themselves. Awareness of your limits, the ability to advocate for your needs, and respect for others are essential. If you are unable to advocate for yourself this is not the right space for you.

If you're unsure whether this space is right for you, please reach out.
