Taoist Transformation Retreat With George Thompson
‘Knowing others is intelligence; Knowing yourself is true wisdom.’
— Laozi, ancient Chinese Philosopher (~500BC)
The Daoists were a group of ancient Chinese philosophers that developed powerful insights into the principles that shape us and the universe. They found that only when when we understand who we really are, is peace and balance possible.
This intimate retreat of just 30 people, aims to equip you with the ideas and practices to make Daoist wisdom an effortless part of your life.
We’ll meditate together. We’ll explore ideas for your mind, body and relationships. We’ll embody the ideas through simple qi gong and taiji movements. We’ll play, dance and sing. We’ll spend time camping in nature. We’ll explore a spirituality grounded in love and science.
Your birthright is an immense capacity for peace, love and joy. It’s time to access it.

About George Thompson
George is a filmmaker, Tai Chi teacher & communicator of Daoist philosophy: the way of nature. His educational films have been watched over 15 million times.
“Daoism has changed my life. Over the past 6 years I have studied Daoism in China with my Tai Chi Master, Master Gu. I’ve learned not to take my harsh inner critic so seriously. I’ve felt more joyful and connected to our beautiful living planet. I better understand our societal problems and the way back to balance. I am no Master or Guru, I am a life long student of the Dao. But I hope and believe that you will get a lot of value out of our time together. I invite you to get deeper with me in the spirit of exploration.”

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ George's practical knowledge of the Dao and his unique and playful approach to sharing it with others made this experience unforgettable. The emotional alchemy practices along with meditations, silence, Qi Gong and Tai Chi sessions were so well timed, relaxing and transformative. The organic food, music and story telling sessions in that beautiful and magical location made the four days go by very quickly, but also with a relaxing intensity that is paradoxical.
— JT
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I really loved the vibrant, playful and joyful energy George brought to this retreat. I really needed to bring back this type of energy in my life, after years of seriousness. I also started to slow down in my life, and to invite more yin energy in my life, after years of intense studies and work. I now welcome moments of calm, serenity and observation in my daily life, without feeling guilty to "do nothing".
The delivery of the in depth teachings was graceful and light, peppered with wonderful stories and humour. I reconnected with the practice of QiGong and I realised what a gem it is in the current fast paced world. I am returning home energised, excited to practice, and with a different outlook on my values and on my priorities.
— Elena
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I loved everything about the retreat, especially the way George taught in a playful way. It brought an energy of light and playfulness to something that I would normally take quite seriously. This helped me to take myself less seriously and have fun. I would recommend it to anyone who has a curiosity around the Dao, Qi Gong or Tai Chi.
— Paula
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I've followed George online since 2017. His enthusiastic style of teaching really makes the learning of the Dao easy to understand and to make work in modern life.
— Wayne
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This retreat was enormously transformational for me. George seamlessly wove together movement practice with meditation and insightful self-growth discussions. I came away rejuvenated, with so many lessons to implement from the simple to the profound. I can’t think of a single person who wouldn’t greatly benefit from this retreat whether you’re interested in Qi Gong or simply expanding your inner world.
— Hugh
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ George presents the Dao so openly and with real care for how the teachings and practices apply to our lives today, with special regard for our sensory and emotional experience. He interweaves Daoist practices and philosophy with learnings from therapy, psychology and neuroscience with an ease and humility that invites personal enquiry and exploration.
I arrived at the retreat exhausted and emotionally stuck and left with a significant uplift in hope, energy and a release of feeling so stuck.
— Peter
