YUM-Lite: Part One……Testing, Testing! - A conscious vocal, acoustic and dance music event, and YUM’s first foray into the awesome MIC

You Understand Magic (YUM) is back, and delighted to announce, an evening of delicious, soulful entertainment:

Jason Burns is the creator of YUM (and in the past Totnes Film Society, the Bubble Optic Surreal ClubHouse (B.O.S.C.H.), and Aquarius Rising ), the curator of the evening, and as JayBe, a DJ who’ll present a dynamic wave of enveloping, beautiful, heartful, fun and bangin’ house music.

Singer-songwriter Taz Babiker will offer music that speaks straight to the heart. His recent EP, Where the Heart Is, explores themes of love, belonging, and home, through soaring melodies and honest, soulful lyrics. For this special night, Taz will perform songs from the EP, joined by Ben Roberts on cello and Michael Stanton on guitar. Together they will create an intimate, immersive sound - weaving voice, strings, and guitar into a performance that is both tender and powerful.

Jay Tee will bring the best in underground house blending fresh cuts with heritage grooves. With standout sets at The Orchard Party, Give!, Under The Holly Moon, and locally at Mixology, Glow, and at The Angel Totnes expect deepness, energy and dancefloor heat.

The first YUM-Lite event is called Testing, Testing! because there is a plan to expand into the entirety of the MIC in the near future - it’s the basement that’s being experimented with to start.

With a beautifully decorated dance environment, a fully stocked alcohol-free bar, and a separate chill-out space for moments to recharge, presenting YUM-Lite is an exciting moment, as a new home for this alchemical enterprise is explored…..
