This Winter we will dive into wooly craft to enhance our lives with more SNUGGLE and FLUFF!
We will make a soft hot water bottle cover to bring extra comfort into our lives in the bleak midwinter cold.
As a group we will learn the ancient skill of carding wool and wet felting to make a stable fibre, finishing with hand-sewing our water bottle covers into being!
Next we learn to whittle our own drop spindle and develop the ancient practice of spinning.
When we have spun our yarn, we will explore a few natural dyes to colour our wool!
Our hand-spun wool will then be woven into a spring equinox tapestry or scarf - weaving with our dreams and hopes for new beginnings in mind.
The course will end with an equinox bonfire by the river Mardle (bring your hot water bottles) where there will be hot cuppa and a chance to share about the dreams we have woven, reflect on the term, celebrate the returning light and build ideas for the next term together!
