We gather as tribe, in tune with the Winter Solstice to honour, celebrate and let go of the incredible roller coaster ride that 2020 is. Let’s shake it out. And let’s dance our prayers, visions and intentions for 2021. 

We're dancing in nature: on the earth, in the sun, with the elements. Just like our ancestors have done for thousands of years…

HEALTH, SAFETY & WELLBEING

As an organised outdoor physical activity, our events are fully compliant with the latest government regulations and we have full permission from Bristol City Council to run our Ecstatic Dance sessions outdoors. Our sessions are covid-secure and respect social distancing measures.

We ask all participants to take responsibility for themselves; and to be sensitive, considerate and respectful of others. If you are experiencing any symptoms of covid-19 (check here: http://nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/symptoms) then please stay at home, rest and be well. 

Please note, that currently, participants cannot travel between tiers to attend our sessions.

WHAT TO BRING

- water & your own bottle
- a lightweight rain jacket (in case of light rain)
- wear your best outfits / ceremonial clothes / warm clothes for celebration (dress in layers)
- a small towel, shoes & trousers / bottoms that you're happy to get a bit muddy
- picnic blanket / something to sit on
- any food & snacks you need

If you don't have access to Google Maps on your phone, please copy the directions from Google Maps beforehand OR come with someone who has the Google Maps app so you can find the location with them.

GETTING TO EASTWOOD FARM

Get to Eastwood Farm either via the South entrance or the West entrance entrance (from the Conham neighbourhood). We're dancing in the large, open, circular grass area surrounded by trees. Try ‘Satellite’ view on Google Maps as it shows more easily where the dance spot is. From the nearest roads it's about a minute walk to the West entrance and about a 5 minute walk to the South entrance.

Please walk or cycle if possible. 

If driving, Google Maps will lead you to the South entrance. Park on nearby roads. If there is no space, there is more parking along Wyndham Crescent, Eastwood Crescent and other neighbouring roads. 

Please park respectfully and make sure you don't block any drive ways as this is a residential area. 

Plan your route in advance so you know where you're going and where you plan to park.  Allow plenty of time on the day to get to Eastwood Farm, especially if this your first time going there.

 

ECSTATIC DANCE

Ecstatic Dance is about self-expression through free-form dance and movement. It’s a movement meditation which brings together the awareness of heart, body and mind; authentically connecting with self and others.

Our events are family friendly. Everyone and all abilities are welcome. 

We use the following guidelines to create a safe, held and sacred space for you to express, expand and experience rejuvenation through movement, dance and sound:

- be here: no shoes
- be free: dance how you want / no judgement
- be present: no phones / cameras
- be clear: no intoxicants
- be embodied: no talking
- be consensual: respect boundaries / be aware of your own personal space and that of others

This scheme allows people who are financially comfortable, to pay towards the ticket of a dancer who is not so financially abundant. Every 1 x ‘Pay-It-Forward’ ticket bought, creates 1 x ‘Concession’ ticket. Please support this scheme if you’re able to.

These tickets, part funded by our 'Pay-It-Forward' scheme, will be released 48 hours before the event - please only choose this ticket type if you really need it

Please note…

- we don't offer any refunds, but we can transfer your ticket to a future event if you notify us, up to 48 hours before the event

- in case of heavy rain, the event will be postponed and your ticket will be transferable to a date of your choice

- by purchasing a ticket you agree that Ecstatic Dance Bristol is not liable for any injury you may incur at this event (dancing on the grass outdoors) and you agree to take full responsibility for yourself, you health and your well-being
