Join us for an illuminating conversation with Matthew Immergut, co-author of one of the most detailed and practical meditation manuals of the modern era. In this dialogue, Matthew will reflect on the impact and evolution of the book since its publication, sharing insights about what aspects have proven most helpful to practitioners and what he might approach differently today.
The conversation will explore how the systematic approach presented in the book has supported countless meditators, while also addressing the complexities that emerged around his co-author Culadasa (John Yates). We'll discuss Matthew's perspective on navigating teacher-student relationships and the broader challenges of translating traditional Buddhist practices for contemporary audiences.
This promises to be a nuanced discussion that honors both the immense value of the book's contributions to meditation practice and the important lessons learned through subsequent events. We expect that Matthew will bring his experience as both a sociologist and long-term meditation practitioner to examine these topics with clarity and care.
The dialogue aims to support our understanding of both meditation pedagogy and the dynamics of spiritual communities, while maintaining respect for all involved.
Equally, the conversation will aim to provide practical guidance on meditation practice and spiritual awakening.

Darius S. on Headless Way: A day with Richard Lang in London | about 12 hours ago
Richard is fantastic and the headless way is a brilliant method to seeing who we really are. If a guru type figure was ever supposed to epitomise the freedom and happiness that we all want it is Richard. Non-stop laughs throughout the day and plenty of experiments. Would definitely recommend.

Natalia Szewczyk on Freedom Beyond Thought: Nondual Meditation & Inquiry with James Cooke | 9 days ago
This was a highly practical workshop where we performed 4 meditations exploring the awareness of "self" and our consciousness. James mentioned a couple of meditation techniques/tools that I started using since the workshop. His knowledge is just incredible and he is a very considerate facilitator. I really enjoyed the workshop and would definitely attend again.

Hannah Moss on Ways of Looking: A 6-week Meditation Course | 12 days ago
Such a great course! Mark is an expert facilitator who holds the space so well – with passion, kindness and thoughtful insight. I found the material and sessions very well structured, with plenty of time for teachings, practice and discussion. A great introduction to Rob Burbea's teachings covering lots of material but without being overwhelming. It's definitely inspired me to dive deeper! Thank you 🙏

Thank you very much Richard, Faye and all the team at Brimpt Farm! The retreat was so much fun, deeply fulfilling, meeting so many wonderful people and sharing in their Headlessness! I highly recommend this retreat, and the Headless Way, for anyone who wants to realise their true nature, smile, laugh, and make loving connections.
Any thoughts on the food? Amazing vegan and vegetarian food served three times a day. I normally don't eat breakfast but it was so delicious I couldn't help myself! |
