Deep Relaxation Sound Journey: AROWAH

Arowah guides you through an immersive musical and sound healing experience in a special guided meditation for deep relaxation

“Informed by Nada Yoga, Sankofic Mantra, Somatics and Black Classical Music, Musical Meditation offers a unique sound healing experience.”

ABOUT MUSIC MEDITATION

Musical Meditation is here for those who may be new to meditation, still searching for ways to quieten the mind, or wanting to bring something new into their practice.

It is also for those who have a deep love of music and want to enjoy a completely immersive musical experience. Stopping, resting and really being in your body are the first steps towards healing. As the body’s parasympathetic response is activated, healing is able to happen on both a physical and emotional level.

Understanding the real challenges that daily stress and unprocessed trauma can place on us, our Musical Meditation sessions focus on deep relaxation, self love and relieving tension in body and mind.

Given the scientifically proven health benefits of meditation and sound healing, it is no surprise that sound and music have been common to all cultures’ healing traditions.

Anyone who has been truly touched by music in their lives will also know why music and sound are so often seen as a tool for spiritual growth. Informed by Nada Yoga, Sankofic Mantra, Somatics and Black Classical Music, Musical Meditation offers a unique sound healing experience.

Our guided musical meditation focuses on deep relaxation, self love and relieving tension in body and mind. The session will involve guitar, voice and electronic elements alongside a guided meditation, focusing on quieting the mind and soothing the body. The sounds and frequencies used have been chosen specifically for their healing and calming effects.

WHAT TO EXPECT

You will be welcomed into the space and invited to make yourself comfortable on the yoga mats provided. The musical meditation will last approximately  one hour, bringing us into a state of deep relaxation.

The meditation is trauma informed, and all guided elements are offered simply as invitations. We will then be guided gently back into the space to bringing this experience to a close together.

WHAT TO BRING

  • Warm, comfortable clothing - our body temperatures can drop when we are in states of deep relaxation so you may want to bring some extra layers or a blanket to stay warm and comfortable
  • A water bottle to stay hydrated
  • A journal if you would like to write down insights that arise afterwards

MEET AROWAH

Arowah | Instagram @arowahsounds

Arowah is an award winning and internationally recognised musician, performing to thousands and receiving praise from the likes of BBC, Bandcamp and NPR.

Having been a Resident Musician at St George’s Hospital for a year and a half, they developed a deep interest in how music could help with healing and started to explore different sound healing traditions.

After attending the Plum Village meditation retreat and receiving the five mindfulness trainings and the dharma name Healing Harmony of the Source, they decided to take this interest further in leading guided meditations for healing. They did their 200hr teacher training in Nada Yoga (the yoga of sound) and traditional Sound Healing at Nada Yoga School in Rishikesh, India. They went on to study Tibetan mantra under Drukmo Gyal, and Sankofic mantra under Fred Johnson, and founded Musical Meditation.

They have since hosted Musical Meditation sessions for the likes of the NHS and Black Lives Matter UK. They are also a qualified Somatics coach and a Mental First Aider. More: https://musicalmeditation.co.uk/about
