You are warmly invited to join us for this experiential and engaging introduction to grief tending in community, to learn more about the approach and to get a taste of the practices we work with in the longer workshops.
What to expect
We will gently explore each stage of the grief tending journey through circle sharing, conversation in pairs, small group work and an accessible, inclusive ceremony.
The session will provide an introduction to the broad spectrum of loss inspired by the 'gates of grief' map offered by Francis Weller, which incorporates collective grief (ecological, generational etc.) as well as personal losses such as bereavement and life transitions.
Who is it for?
This is a good place to start if you're new to grief tending in community and feeling curious about trying some of the activities before diving deeper in a longer workshop or retreat. It's an opportunity to get a taste of the circle of support and healing that we create together.
The Gifting Approach - Pay What You Can
All our events are offered on a gift basis, which means there’s no financial barrier to participation. This is a bit different to simply inviting donations. We’re asking you to feel into a contribution that feels right for you. One of the factors we ask you to take into account is how much you might pay elsewhere for something similar. For this event, this is likely in the region of £20, so please bear this in mind. It's OK though if it's less or more.
This workshop is subsidised by Big Lottery funding. Your gift will ensure that we can continue offering sessions to everyone who needs them, regardless of their financial circumstances.
Norfolk Grief Tending is a non-profit community organisation that helps adults who are struggling with grief to find hope, healing and peace.
Our events are held by experienced facilitators, working with tried and tested trauma-informed practices. They are available on a gift basis, which means pay what you can.
