It's been a while but Found in Sound are back in Bristol to hold a sound bath at a beautiful new location - The Wild Box in BS3, right by Victoria Park.
This sound bath, hosted by Laura and Tom, is an invitation to pause, connect, and reflect, whilst ‘bathing’ in therapeutic sounds that gently retune the body into its natural harmonic rhythms, activating your inner healer, promoting shifts on all levels.
This session will include a range of frequencies and sounds - such as the drum, grounding bowls, Himalayan singing bowls, the gong, crystal singing bowls, the voice, rainstick, chimes, the Tibetan swinging gong - each of which are like a sonic vitamin for the mind, body, and soul and affect changes within the mental state, physical, emotional and spiritual bodies, most commonly slowing the mind's brain's waves down into a state of rest & repair known as an “altered state of consciousness” or an ASC for short.
It is in this 'altered' state that your body's self-healing abilities are switched on so it can heal, repair, and reset, moving the emotional & physical weight, detoxifying your cells & tissues. Some say that they meet their higher selves and mental clarity & inner wisdom comes. It's true that answers come when we relax & lie in stillness, and sound baths offer that opportunity to commune with self.
There's much research to support other healing effects too, but this varies from person to person, and varies dependent on the individual's unique energetic state, health, and background. It's worth noting that the “effects” may not be immediate either, as the healing process can take several days to complete.
Before the sound bath there is some light breath work, body scan meditation & intention setting. After the sound healing there is a brief moment of silence to allow integration before the journey comes to a close.
WHAT TO BRING
Just an open mind & heart, your wonderful self, and water! Mats, pillows, blankets, and bolsters are provided, although do bring more if you need extra support or comfort.
