Since time immemorial, women have gathered beneath the light of the full moon—drawn not only by her brilliance in the night sky, but by the subtle call she makes to something ancient within us. There is a remembering that happens when we sit together in her glow. A softening. A reweaving.
The full moon marks a peak in the lunar cycle—a time of fullness, illumination, and visibility. Just as the moon reflects the light of the sun, she reflects to us what is ready to be seen within ourselves: our truth, our power, our longing, our shadows. Emotions rise. Dreams intensify. The veil between the seen and unseen thins. And in this potent, expanded moment, women come together not to fix or perform, but simply to be—to listen, to share, to witness, and to remember.
There is something profoundly restorative about circling in this way. In a world that so often values speed, logic, and individualism, moon gatherings offer a return to slowness, intuition, and community. The full moon invites us to step outside of linear time and into a more cyclical rhythm—a rhythm that lives in our bones, our wombs, our breath.
Our menstrual cycles are intimately linked with the moon. Just as she waxes and wanes, so too do we move through phases of building, blooming, releasing, and resting. In ancient cultures, it was common for women to synchronise with each other and with the moon. They would retreat together during menstruation, and gather to celebrate ovulation and fertility at the full moon. These gatherings weren’t luxuries—they were medicine. A way to anchor into nature’s rhythms, process emotion, mark transitions, and receive the nourishment of sisterhood.
To gather at the full moon is to honour the feminine principle in all her expressions—fluid, radiant, emotional, wise, and wild. It is to reclaim the sacredness of coming together without a mask. No competition. No pretence. Just truth. We show up as we are—in joy or grief, confusion or clarity—and in doing so, we find our way back to wholeness.
For this circle gather around a fire and the act of circling under the full moon rekindles something vital: a sense of belonging to each other, to the Earth, and to the deep feminine current that flows through all of life.
This is not new. This is ancient. We are simply remembering.
