🎶 Vocal Improv Night: Collaborative Concert and Circle Singing with the Audience
Featuring Muze Voices, Anthropos Ensemble and London Circle Music
📅 Wednesday, December 4th
⏰ Doors - 7.30 pm
Music from 8.00 pm
📍The Jago Dalston - Upstairs
440 Kingsland Rd, London E8 4AA, United Kingdom
Join us for an interactive collaborative concert followed by participatory circle-singing with audience presented by three of London’s leading vocal improv ensembles - Muze Voices, Anthropos Ensemble and Circu-tribe.
This will be a night of play, self-expression and spontaneous song creation. Combining diverse genres and influences and with no set pieces or predetermined musical material, the evening will intuitively interweave story, poetry and more - allowing us all to co-create in the moment.
🍹 Drinks available at the bar
🎙️ Muze Voices is an interactive and immersive musical ensemble where the boundary between performers and the audience dissolves into a harmonious collaboration. The songs are co-created in the moment with our audience. Imagine beginning with a mesmerizing, vocal-led sound bath, evolving organically into a participatory circle-singing session. Here, regardless of your prior singing experience, you're warmly invited to add your voice to the ensemble. This experience transforms dozens of strangers into a unified choir, each voice adding its unique tone to a rich, sonic tapestry.

🎙️ Anthropos: Songs of Humanity ensemble explores the roots of collective song before and beyond language. They began by asking themselves; why did our ancestors sing and how did music emerge before its separation from daily life? This a cappella ensemble creates improvised vignettes that transcend style or culture and give voice to the human experience. Music was once the golden thread in the fabric of everyday life and so music beyond words, is the language of Anthropos. Together, they draw from the depth of their musical traditions and life experiences to imagine ancient languages and sound archetypal feelings. They have recently performed at Germany’s TIN festival and are premiering an interdisciplinary project at the Ljubljana Dance Theatre later in 2024.
