Finding Deep Connection Through Relational Life Practices & Grief Tending

This retreat brings together Relational Life Therapy (RLT) and Grief Tending to help couples reconnect, heal, and strengthen their bond.

We warmly invite you to a special weekend  residential retreat designed for couples or pairs in relationship who long for more ease, connection, and authenticity in their relationships. Together, we will move towards more intimacy, ease, and genuine connection, through grief work  combined with RLT practices. This is open to non-romantic pairings and non monogamous relating.

Relationships are a place where we find deep love and joy - but they are also where we experience tension, misunderstanding, and unspoken grief. Over the course of the weekend, we will create a supportive space where you and your partner can explore patterns that keep you stuck, learn how to communicate with clarity and compassion, and tend to the grief that may be silently shaping your relationship.

How RLT and Grief Tending Work Together

RLT helps couples recognise and shift dysfunctional patterns, develop deeper emotional honesty, and create healthier ways of relating. However, many relational difficulties are deeply tied to unresolved grief - losses, disappointments, and emotional wounds that linger beneath the surface, shaping our interactions and responses. Grief Tending provides a structured way to process these emotions, creating space for healing and renewal.

By integrating these two modalities, this retreat offers a unique approach to relationship healing  and flourishing. Through guided RLT exercises, you and your partner will identify limiting patterns and learn new ways to communicate with clarity and compassion. Alongside this, Grief Tending practices such as partner and communal witnessing, and reflective exercises will allow you to acknowledge and express grief that may be blocking deeper connection.

This combination ensures that relational work is not just about improving communication but also about releasing emotional burdens that may be silently shaping your dynamic. By tending to grief together, couples and pairs can build greater emotional resilience, increase their capacity for intimacy, and create a relationship that feels more alive, present, and fulfilling.

Relationship Challenges You Might Experience:

  • Emotional disconnection or lack of intimacy
  • Struggles with communication and feeling unheard
  • Unresolved grief - whether personal, collective, or relational - that impacts the relationship

  • Difficulty balancing independence with togetherness
  • A desire for deeper connection but uncertainty on how to get there

ABOUT YOUR FACILITATORS

Roisin Green (https://www.roisingreen.com/) is a psychosexual  and relational life (RLT) therapist, and has led a life bordering on obsession with the emotional truth of each moment. Roisin’s journey has led her through work as a clown, dance, sub-dom, and across somatic practice of many kinds. Also to times of dedicated meditation practice and neurobiology as it relates to trauma. The Heart of Us offering concentrates many, if not all of her cultivated and instinctual faculties to provide deep play and unearthing.

Bilal Nasim (https://www.griefsupport.org.uk/ ) is a facilitator, trainer and artist exploring what it means to be alive and our relationship with death. Bilal is an experienced grief tender and has been holding grief spaces since 2018. He is the founder of Embracing Grief - along with Sarah and Tony Pletts, offering grief support circles, workshops and rituals - online and in-person in London and Devon, UK, and Germany, including workshops aimed specifically for POC and those identifying as men.
