Raagas, music of the divine emotions.
A lovingly designed gathering using the ancient sound wisdom of Raaga and prayerful meditations.
This is beyond a concert , the aim of the night is to bring our hearts in tune together.
Raagas come from an ancient and profound tradition of using sound to commune with divine/ higher self . They originated as ceremonial experiences in ancient temples.
In Raag performances the aim is try to bring the audience and musicians together as one, into the “ RAASA” (essences of emotion) .
Each Raag has its own sonic formula evoking various feelings ( RAASAS), while held in the healing beauty of the sound .
Beautifully poetic meditations and intentional prayers by Eartha further create a sacred space for our gathering , bringing us out of the mind and into the heart .
The Raags will be played Bansuri, low pitched bamboo flute .
With a rich live soundscape of Tanpuras, harmonically rich drone instruments that still the mind.
Jason Kalidas trained In Raag music with his Gurus in Varanasi india, studying since 1996 . He specialises in BANSURI . He works with some of UKs top Indian musicians .
