In the discussions around settings for psychedelic experiences, music festivals are generally seen as “not ideal”. Often they are associated with absolute overstimulation of the senses, unpredictability of the occurrences and absence of safe spaces.

Yet thousands of people around the world choose to explore these rich aesthetic and social environments while experimenting with psychoactive substances.

Whereas many classical research studies involve a limited number of patients enrolled in a trial under controlled circumstances, often hundreds of people undertake psychedelic journeys over the course of the same event, under very much uncontrolled circumstances.

Are the effects of these journeys on people’s lives less valuable than the ones sprouting during clinical trials?

Does their recreational character imply the absence of effects on changed worldview and personal growth?

Please join this presentation to learn about, and hopefully be entertained by, the results of a research study which sprouted from these questions. Quantitative (online survey) and qualitative (interviews) research methods have been combined to illuminate 3 main topics: motivation for the setting choice; the nature of the resulting experiences & their influence on people’s lives; learnings from psychedelic experiences at music festivals.

Will the findings resonate with your experiences? Let‘s find out!

This event will be recorded and a copy of the recording shared with all ticket holders.

SPEAKER
Iryana Mosina

Born in USSR, raised in Ukraine, having lived in many countries, Iryana calls herself a world citizen and Berlin her home. After 2 university degrees & a corporate employment in her twenties, she fulfilled her dream of a journey around the world blogging about music festivals. One festival every weekend for a year on 6 continents – her project Raverglueck turned out to be a success on many levels.

During this journey she got experientially initiated into altered states of consciousness, which lead to a transformational process and changed the trajectory of her life path. She has spent the last 5 years exploring the world of psychedelic substances, yoga & meditation from different angles, practically & theoretically. Today she is sharing her experience and knowledge with people interested in mindfulness practices and personal growth as a coach and yoga & meditation teacher.

Following her passion for psychedelics in recreational settings, she carried out a study on “Recreational Use of Psychedelics at Music Festivals”. Furthermore she is actively engaged with PsyCareUK in harm reduction as well as active care for festival guests going through challenging experiences.

A fabulous event with excellent organization and so many like-minded people! There wasn’t a single moment or program I didn’t enjoy—in fact, I loved all of them. I’d like to give a special shoutout to Carly B, who was everywhere and has put in so much effort to hold the space and ensure everything ran smoothly.
