Sensorium - Extra Sensory Play Taster Session

Sensorium is an online perception lab, guiding players through an extra-sensory exploration of their body and the world around them. 

Inventing tools to peer beyond the veil of reality, you will question your default channels of perception.

*This taster session leads up to an online course in February 2024 and an in-person immersion in August 2024.

ESP practices include

• Extra-sensory meditations
• Experiments in sensation and connection
• Development of playful gadgets to build intimacy with self and others
• Deconstruction of automatic behaviours to revitalise engagement in all areas

Open World Theatre is an experience design troupe based in Australia who will be touring the UK, USA & EU in 2024. This online course is a primer to develop skills in extra-sensory perception directly through your human channels of awareness but also by hand-making interfaces to reinterpret light, sound and movement in your environment.

Sensorium provides the bridge between the internal frameworks of sensation and the absurd actuality of a world made of signals. Remix reality to reveal the absurd within the actual.

Deeply philosophic and deeply fun, ‘Open World’ combines physiology, creativity, game design and reality hacking. This is not a technical course, but a somatic lab to get hands on with the invisible possibilities hidden all around us.

Through these practices you will

Hone awareness of subtle energies in your body and surroundings
Build a toolkit of innovative practices to dislodge stuckness
Partake in a cutting edge exploration of human conduct
Build connections between imagination, productivity, instinct and social influence
Establish a new approach to intimacy and embodied communication

YOUR FACILITATOR

Atlas is a theatre director, game designer and explorer of the intersection between nature, technology, culture and imagination. Founder of Open World Theatre, he holds ritual art spaces to initiate into extra sensory performance through a martial arts approach to the creative arts. Seeking truth beneath the social facade, his practices involve physical theatre, perception labs, innovation in communication interfaces and a devotion to beauty and art as a means to evolve greater sentience.
