We are two insatiable poets, both interested in a way of writing that has fire and water, a power that stops us in our tracks, quickens our blood, and sparks songs both old and new in our marrow and our memory. With some luck - and the approaches we’ll explore with you - words fly true and the strands of the hidden web begin to sing…

I’VE NEVER WRITTEN POETRY BEFORE/ HAVE LIMITED EXPERIENCE/ THINK I’M NO GOOD/ FEEL SHY ETC.

Most people who come fall short of wanting to identify themselves as a poet. Don’t worry - we'll work on that. Wielding the Green Knife is a supportive environment for anyone who writes. Yes, these weekends are for those who are involved in working with language and eloquence and the power of words, but we’re all impostors and most of us are shy - please don’t let that put you off.

BUT WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE?

We are two professional poets who want to help you write with the potency you’ve always dreamed of. We love poetry that's a creature of both heaven and earth; that speaks plainly of things that shift the soul; words that have depths and heights, and make the hidden fibres of the world sing. Both skilled space-holders, with years of experience - Rozi Hilton and Tom Hirons form Feral Angels Events; a venture designing and hosting workshops for writers interested in honesty, beauty, and edge; and a haven for poets who don't recognise themselves among the 'literati' and the generally-accepted canon.

We write, seek-out, and encourage intrepid eloquence, truth-telling, and authentic expression; aiming to provoke duende, calibrate souls toward the Green Pulse, and incite action for a world on fire. We like raw words, revelation, mythopoetic image, and none of the bravado or elitism that puts a veil over resonant-transmission.
