Myself and Claire are excited to be offering this half day retreat at Dearden Woods camp site.   There will be a sense of community and a space of non judgement.  We will, hopefully be outside in the open tent, weather dependant, if not we will go into the roundhouse.   

We will have  a cup of Full Power Ceremonial grade Cacao to start, which is medicine in itself and opens your heart chakra and connects us even more to mother earth. Claire will be holding a Hatha Yoga session.  There will also be a conscious connected breathwork session held by myself, with optional Reiki healing.  Conscious connected breathwork is an amazing tool, purely using our own breath, to connect to your body, disconnecting with your mind.  You may release emotions or memories that have been held onto day to day or that you may have buried down over time. 
If we hold onto the emotions/memories/trauma we haven't released, it can cause stress, anxiety and dis-ease in our bodies.  
People often get from a session what they need at that moment in time, whether it be purely disconnecting from the over active mind or an emotional release.  

We will have some Pizza and other nibbly bits and a share afterwards if people feel called to. 

Conscious connected breathwork changes the chemistry in our bodies, so there are some contraindications that need to be taken into consideration. Therefore this waiver below and the Cacao contraindications must be read and agreed to before you come to the session.  Any questions, please reach out before booking your ticket.

Breathwork Waiver

I understand that if I am taking any medications or have any medical conditions such as, but not being limited to:

Epilepsy or seizures, Heart conditions or arrhythmia, COPD or pre-existing lung conditions, Delicate and/or first trimester pregnancy, High blood pressure (hypertension), Very low blood pressure with fainting history (hypotension), Severe asthma, Glaucoma and/or detached retina, Severe osteoporosis, Recent major surgery, Schizophrenia, Unmedicated bipolar disorder or psychosis and Unmanaged PTSD.

In any of these cases, modified practice options may be offered to you. We may on
occasion advise that breathwork is not suitable for you. We also advise that people experiencing panic attacks and high anxiety levels use a modified practice.
Please let us know if you have recently been using micro-dosing protocols.

Contraindications for Cacao

Full power cacao may have contraindications for people with certain health conditions, or who are taking certain medications. 

Heart conditions-Cacao can increase heart rate and lower blood pressure, so it may not be suitable for people with serious heart conditions 

Diabetes-Cacao may raise blood sugar levels, so it may not be suitable for people with diabetes 

Bleeding disorders-Cacao may increase the risk of bleeding, so people with bleeding disorders should consult a doctor before consuming it 

Epilepsy-Cacao may increase the risk of seizures, so people with epilepsy should be cautious 

Medications 

Antidepressants: Cacao can interact with antidepressants, particularly MAOIs and SSRIs

Blood thinners: Cacao may increase the effect of blood thinners, increasing the risk of bleeding

Stimulants: Cacao can increase heart rate and blood pressure when combined with other stimulants, such as caffeine or ADHD medications

Other considerations

Pregnancy: Pregnant people should reduce or avoid caffeine and stimulants, and may want to start with a small dose of cacao 

Adrenal fatigue: Regular high doses of cacao can lead to adrenal fatigue 

Sensitivity: People who are sensitive to caffeine or other stimulants may want to start with a small dose of cacao 

Your agreement

Whilst I have been accepted as a participant for this session, I accept responsibility for any consequence resulting from this practice.

Vicky Westgarth/Claire Thorpe are not a substitute for consulting your GP or primary medical care provider.

In the event of any known medical conditions, I certify that I have consulted a health professional regarding any condition (physical, mental or emotional) that could interfere with my judgment or affect my health in any way during, or after the session.

I am aware that appropriate touch may be used for the purpose of supporting my wellbeing and comfort. Touch will only be used with your express informed consent and that decision can be changed at any time.

What to expect

I will go through a thorough framework and also show you the breathing technique at the beginning of every session. 

*The session will last approx 5 hours. If in person please turn up 10/15 minutes before the time stated so you can get comfortable before the session starts. The session will start at exactly 11am, late arrivals will not be allowed in as you will of missed vital information and I wont have time to go back over it. 

*Please bring a Yoga matt, blankets and a pillow and wear layers to keep warm.

*Wear comfortable loose clothing. Tight waistbands and underwired bras are not advisable.

*Please bring a water bottle. Feel free to bring a note pad and pen to write anything down once we have completed the session. 

*Eye masks will be provided. 

*You can also bring an item for resourcing if you wish ie a favourite pillow or blanket or teddy.

*Try to not eat a heavy meal a few hours before our session, if you do we will have to stick to nose breathing rather than through the mouth.

*Please do not drink alcohol or take any drugs at least 24 hours before the session.
