Join us for an afternoon immersion into the mystical art of the Icaro — healing songs of the Amazon, received through deep communion with plant spirits. This sacred sound masterclass and panel talk invites you into a heart-opening space of learning, listening and remembering.

We begin with a live Icaro masterclass guided by Juan Carlos Taminchi, an Ayahuascero, Tabaquero, visionary artist and healer from the Peruvian Amazon. You’ll learn about the energetic technology of these sacred songs, how they are received in dieta, and the way they are applied in ceremony to call in protection, clear blockages, activate healing, and open spiritual gateways.

Following the masterclass, we will gather around the sacred fire for an intimate panel discussion and Q&A, featuring Juan Carlos and Harley Rose, a  plant medicine practitioner, integration therapist, and ceremonialist. Together we will explore:

✨ The power and purpose of ancestral medicines
✨ How ceremony can support personal and collective healing
✨ The role of integration and right relationship with the Earth
✨ Discernment in choosing healing paths, peak experiences & preparation
✨ The personal responsibility we carry in walking the path of transformation

This is a space to ask questions, share your heart, and connect more deeply with these sacred teachings and medicines — offered with reverence, humility, and openness.

🌿 ABOUT THE FACILITATORS

Juan Carlos Taminchi

For over 20 years, he has travelled internationally sharing his work as an Ayahuascero, Tabaquero, and ceremonial musician — known for the strength of his icaros and the high quality of the medicine he prepares.

Juan Carlos is the guardian of Inti Yacu, a reforestation project in the Amazon where his family is replanting 37 hectares of sacred medicinal plants, protecting biodiversity and ensuring these master plant spirits continue to heal for generations to come.

Full Day Retreat Event Details

Rose Ceremony ✨

Sunday 17th August | 10:00 am – 1:00 PM

40 GBP alone or 78 GBP for the full day retreat

Step into the heart of the Rose — a sacred, ancestral portal to divine love, healing, and remembrance.

In this immersive ceremony, Juan Carlos Taminchi, visionary artist and Curandero from the Peruvian Amazon, and Harley Rose, a plant medicine facilitator and shamanic practitioner, will guide you through a powerful healing journey with the ancient Rose.

Honoured across time by many lineages — from Mexico to the Celtic Isles to the Sacred Valley of Peru — the Rose has long been revered as a spiritual midwife, opening gateways between the seen and unseen, and restoring harmony between body, soul, and earth.

🜃 You will receive:

🌹 Ancestral Rose healing practices passed down through Mexican curanderismo

🌹 Sacred Rose elixirs made from flowers grown in Glastonbury and the Sacred Valley

🌹 Amazonian chants, native instruments, and shamanic ritual

🌹 Teachings from the Celtic and Incan lineages of the Rose

🌹 A deep energetic cleanse and activation of the heart and womb spaces

✨ In Celtic traditions, the Rose was a bridge to the Otherworld — used in womb rites, seasonal ceremonies, and for heart-healing.

✨ In Incan traditions, the Rose carries the vibration of Munay — unconditional love — and was used in Despacho offerings, flower baths, and energetic harmonisation with Pachamama.

✨ In Mexican healing, the Rose is believed to intuitively know where to bring healing — restoring emotional, physical, spiritual, and energetic balance.

𓋹

This ceremony is for those who feel called to awaken the temple of the heart…

To soften the grief, open the voice, restore trust, and return to the medicine of love.

Detailed instructions for arriving to the venue

Car: Park in the One Garden Car Park (Patchway), which does have a fee. Walk out of the car park from the exit towards Stanmer Organics, with the Manor House behind you. Follow the track past Bee in the Woods till the end of it, turn right up the hill, walk past the Sauna Garden to the main Stanmer Organics Entrance on your left. Turn left and follow the track all the way along until you reach Future Roots. If you get lost, ask anyone for directions to the Earthship and we are next door to that.

Bus from Brighton: Get the 78 Bus to Stanmer Village (the earliest one on Sunday leaves Old Steine at 10am, and then one every hour). Once you arrive at Stanmer Village, walk to Patchway Car Park and follow the directions above.

If the timings of the 78 Bus don't work for you, then you can also get any bus towards Sussex University (25, 23) and get off at the Stanmer Park Entrance Stop. This is a 25 minute BEAUTIFUL walk through the park from the site.

Train: I really recommend this option if you would like to see more of Falmer and the beautiful grounds and ancient trees - get the train to Falmer Station and walk about 30 minutes through Stanmer Park to the site, enjoying glorious views

If you are using Google Maps, Future Roots does have a location on there, but the walking path it tries to take you on through Stanmer Village is incorrect. Go past the One Garden instead.
