Come and discover the paleolithic way to make a arrowhead , flint knapping ( the art of working flint)

Age Group - 6 - 18 years old

Parents may accompany their children for the event as it is a  tough skill !!

We would love to give you some tricks and secrets in working with bone tools, rocks , and working with this beautiful volcanic substance, flint.

Flintknappers were highly sort after tradesman , perfecting their skill over 1000's of years,  you will get to have a go at making neolithic blades and mesolithic.
We will delve into history and re tell the stories of old paleolithic hunter gatherers while we craft and work .
Time will be spent honing a flint blade from a larger piece , slowly working away at the flint till its flat and small for an arrow head , using mainly rocks but also antler and wood.
Everyone will go away with an arrowhead that they can put on a necklace - we shall provide the string for this .
