Begin your day with a peaceful and recharging 'bath' in the sounds of gongs, ancient singing bowls, crystal bowls, Asian temple bells, some other instruments and Kat's healing throat singing at the end.

Specially selected essential oils will accompany the sound to sooth the mind and lift up the spirit.

Things to bring with you:

  • A mat to lie down on
  • A blanket to keep yourself warm
  • Optional eye mask, pillow and bottle of drinking water or thermos with tea

Doors open at 10am.

Gong Bath starts at 10.20am and lasts an hour, followed by 5-10min of silence, gentle sounds and waking up.

About gong bath:

Lying down on the mats on the floor each individual has a different unique experience, sometimes more physical and emotional, sometimes more visual. Certain sounds and vibrations create a feeling of being 'bathed' or carried away into the space. Strong physical sensations might be felt in problem areas that need attention.

During the session the brainwaves are altered to the state that is self-healing, and has balancing benefits on the body and mind. Occasionally unpleasant emotions can flow up to the surface as a part of a healing process, but in most cases the overall experience is deeply relaxing, blissful and ecstatic. Sound Mysterium's gong soundscapes are subtle and thorough. Participants report being 'switched-off' or 'floating' in timeless nothingness, having rich dreamy visions or seeing splashes of light and colors, sensing subtle energies in the body and around.

Regular gong baths can help fight insomnia, depression, anxiety and other ailments. They do detox, speed up recovery and recharge. They are one of the most easy ways to relax and experience a bit of magic.

Your facilitator:

Kat Bumbul of Sound Mysterium has been offering gong baths in London for more than 10 years, along with tea ceremonies, retreats, tuition in sound healing and private gong, singing bowls and shamanic sessions.

As a practitioner of Siberian shamanism, Kashmiri shaiva tantra and Dao Yin Shu, Kat incorporates her gifts and skills from these practices into the sound work to bring a healing experience to a deeper level, transforming sound bath sessions into shamanic ceremonies.

Kat will be running the session together with her partner, artist Rolandas Pocius.

I had some weirdo nearby who kept on making strange noises and doing movements and kept moving into my space, so it was a bit strange and I couldn't really relax and drop into the experience. Venue was nice though.

It is difficult to find fault with this wonderful experience. My entire body is wracked with aching arthritis. Bathing it in the vibrations of the gongs is one of the few effective forms of relief I get. It might be conducive if, just before the gong bath begins, we could acknowledge our neighbours. Going alone can feel intimidating, especially when lots of people seem to know each other.

It was a lovely space and I felt very welcome by the host who took the trouble to smudge us all individually - unfortunately I did not have enough warm blankets so the evening was rather chilly!
