Join Rozi and Lucy for a safe welcome into the instinctual joy of Playfighting, and the final session of the year!
As well as a joyful way to engage the body and just being downright harmless good fun- Playfighting can be a tool for insight, understanding and transformation - in sense of self, and in relationships. It enables a return to innocence, so that we can explore our strength and sensations together as adults from a place of empowerment.
It can be a rare opportunity in our world to give ourselves the permission to meet other bodies close-up in ways that aren't sexual, sporting or aggressive - yet most of us can relate to the aliveness of wrangling in this way as children, or watching animals instinctually do the same, and the simple innocence of rough and tumbling.
Playfighting is not about technique or strength - it can be equally as fun to loose as to get points - but it gives us the opportunity for ‘no-stakes’ deep learning about our life strategies in a safe circle of connection. In the ring we can become aware of our subtle approaches to perceived competition, and how they can play-out outside of the workshop arena. Ultimately Playfighting can help us notice blindspots; overcome adversities; make peace; and apply new attitudes as confidence grows.
Whether you have fought before with PlayfightingUK, or informally with friends, or you're just curious to reclaim some playful power and experiment in a safe space; you're welcome to join us, every first Thursday evening of the month. All sessions include games, some techniques, physical play, conscious competition and energetic catharsis - with plenty of time to spar in a held Playfighting ring.
We'll cover the important foundations of Playfighting; building safety by exploring ways to maintain connection and awareness while in an encounter; as well as
skills and techniques for deepening - enabling you to track, explore and enjoy the effects of each game on the psyche.

YOUR FACILITATORS
Lucy Sheehan: Lucy learned Playfight with Matteo Tangi, a form of playfight that supports connection and conscious competition. She loves playfighting for the possibilities it creates for people to connect with themselves and each other both physically and energetically. She holds space for playfights that facilitate awareness of the shapes we take in the world and support people to create and deepen into new ways of being.
Lucy wants us to get curious about how expanded states of consciousness in relational settings can support our transformation and our relationship to the world. She explores this through her work as a trainee Core Process Psychotherapist, a movement facilitator, and as part of the Alalaho retreat team who offer supportive legal psychedelic experiences.

Rozi Hilton: A multi-skilled facilitator, Rozi holds-space at the intersection of Play and personal-development - teaching embodied awareness and authenticity. She learned Playfighting from Frank and Sheila Crux as well as Matteo Tangi; and runs PlayfightingUK - bringing the practice to festivals and events all over the country.
Rozi is a director of Wild Women Retreats and Catalista Leadership, and runs her own mentoring programmes. Her skills involve poetry, fooling, experience-design and nature connection, and are heavily influenced by the methodologies of Biodanza and Process Work.
She has a playful family with two rambunctious boys - and lives to enable awareness, acceptance and expression. Rozi considers her work a form of cultural activism. www.believethebird.com
