Divine Ridiculous: The Pilgrimmage

A Walking Workshop.

Divine Ridiculous presents THE PILGRIMMAGE, a unique journey into some of the most beautiful hidden places in the wilderness of West Dartmoor. Each day we will hike (for no more than 3 hours) to a new place, to make camp and concoct rituals, frolic, and explore how this land speaks through us to the ancient arts of clown, mask and magic. Along the way we will greet many wonders: weird stones, magical glades, crystal clear streams, caves, twisted oak trees, mossy dells, open moor, and tor. In intimate contact with the landscape we will adventure with myth and masquerade, gathering around the fire each evening to weave story and dream.

Offering to the land we will pray and play in Divine Ridiculous ways, in places of beauty, resonance, and pure nature. Each night we will stop at a safe house where we will meet the spirits of those who choose to live on this land, learn new skills from them, gain insights, and eat hearty warm food by the fire, singing, crafting, and listening in. The next morning after breakfast we will break camp and head onward to the next encounter in the pilgrimmage.

All participants must carry their own tent, bedding and gear. Food will be provided. We will be walking 2 to 3 hours every day, journeying into the world of the clown, dancing with the land, and camping under the stars, out on the moors.
