About The Event 

Dr David Luke, a leading researcher in the field of psychedelics, will be presenting an enlightening talk on the fascinating phenomenon of entity encounters. Drawing from his extensive body of work, including his acclaimed book “Otherworlds,” David will delve into how psychedelics can induce experiences where individuals perceive interactions with non-human entities. These encounters often hold profound personal and spiritual significance, challenging conventional understandings of reality and consciousness. 

In his talk, David will explore the cultural, psychological, and mystical dimensions of these extraordinary experiences. He will discuss how various cultures throughout history have interpreted these encounters, often attributing them to spirits, deities, or otherworldly beings. Additionally, he will examine the psychological underpinnings of these experiences, considering how psychedelics might unlock hidden aspects of the mind that facilitate such vivid and meaningful interactions. 

David’s presentation will also address the potential transformative impact of entity encounters on individuals. Many people report significant changes in their worldview, personal beliefs, and even life direction after such experiences. Dr. David Luke

Dr. David Luke holds the position of Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Greenwich, where he has taught the undergraduate course on the Psychology of Exceptional Human Experience since 2009. Additionally, he serves as an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Centre for Psychedelic Research, Imperial College London. Dr. Luke is also involved with the Alef Trust, where he leads the Professional Certificate in Psychedelics, Altered States, and Transpersonal Psychology program and tutors in the MSc program in Consciousness, Spirituality, and Transpersonal Psychology. 

Dr. David Luke's research primarily explores transpersonal experiences, anomalous phenomena, and altered states of consciousness, with a particular emphasis on psychedelics. He has authored over 100 academic papers and thirteen books in this field.

Callum is an event coordinator for The Psychedelic Society and a life-long learner in the exploration of consciousness. He has completed a MSc in Medical Anthropology at University College London where he specialised in research on the phenomenology of consciousness, psychedelics and the therapeutic and healing arts in mystical traditions around the world. 

Callum regularly delivers talks and workshops on mental health, meditation and the breath to companies, groups and festivals across the UK. He is an advocate of transformative and psychedelic experiences that are grounded in transpersonal and somatic philosophy and psychology.
