Bristol Psychedelic Society Monthly PsySocial

Join us for the first of our Spring Bristol & South West Psychedelic Society Socials, aimed to build a community of like-minded souls, share, network, and discuss.

Grounding together with guided practices, sharing nourishing food, and collectively engaging with fascinating talks and conversations, these events are an opportunity to connect deeply and cross-pollinate with fellow consciousness explorers.

This Month's Theme: Breathwork & Altered States with Jez Grattan-Kane

The Breath is an animating thread that follows us through waking, sleeping, dreaming and trance states.  How can we use the breath to both listen deeper and navigate these states?

In this upcoming talk and discussion, Jez will explore how we can use the breath to navigate through states of consciousness, both ordinary and altered.

Whilst honouring uncertainty and the mystery, he will be offering a synthesis of his current understanding of the Breath through Yogic, neurological and relational lenses.

As a therapeutic tool, Jez will discuss how the Breath can support our ability to cultivate rest, forge resilience to stress, and how it might aid someone’s healing journey in conjunction with psychedelics. He will also be discussing the Breath’s potential for creating psychedelic experiences, including the groundwork of embodiment, trauma sensitive practice and relational support to safely approach and integrate these altered states.

This will be a discussion to sow the seeds of curiosity, of both listening to and shaping your Breath… As an animating force at the heart of experience.

About Jez

Jez Grattan-Kane is a Breathwork Coach, Yoga Teacher and Facilitator who works with groups and individuals to co-create curiosity, and bring awareness to the embodied and relational dynamics of human experience.

Through his own journey of healing and wholing Jez developed a fascination with the interplay between Mind, Body, and Breath, leading him to India and Nepal in 2015 where he gained in-depth knowledge of physical Yoga, Meditation and Pranayama.

Having since become a “student of the Breath” – undergoing extensive training in Yoga and Breathwork alongside ongoing studies in Transpersonal Psychology  – Jez now regularly holds space during classes, retreats and with personal clients.

Through his work, he is motivated to reanimate relationships of care, curiosity and reciprocity, in-between the human, more than human species and the sensuous Earth. Trusting the emergence and meaning in the creativity and chaos of our times.
