Journeys is a growing community built around walking, nature, connection — and a shared spirit of adventure. It’s about getting outdoors together, exploring new places, slowing down, and finding balance through movement and the natural world.
Each event brings people together in a friendly, inclusive way — whether it’s a short local walk, a day out in the hills, or a multi-day challenge. Every journey is different, but the aim is always the same: to connect with the landscape, with each other, and with ourselves.
At Journeys, everyone is welcome — as long as they’re open, kind, and accepting of others’ backgrounds, experiences, and identities. It’s a space built on respect, curiosity, and shared adventure, where everyone can feel part of something positive and genuine.
About Jamie
I’m Jamie Whittaker — 45, originally from Manchester and now based in Todmorden. I’ve been guiding walks and outdoor activities for as long as I can remember. Being in nature is where I feel most balanced and connected.
Through Journeys, I bring people together from all walks of life to share time outdoors, discover new places, and build friendships. Whether it’s a gentle canal walk or a challenging mountain hike, I believe every journey offers something special — new paths, new views, and new connections.
I hold a Hill Skills qualification and First Aid training, and I’m passionate about creating a community where everyone feels welcome and supported.
Inspired by the Goonies spirit of adventure — curiosity, courage, friendship, and discovery — Journeys is about tapping into that same energy: getting outside, exploring together, and remembering that life is one big adventure waiting to be shared.
