Over the Moon Choir

OVER THE MOON CHOIR 🌙 is a friendly and welcoming monthly drop-in community choir, who meet one Sunday per month (2.30 - 4.30pm) at The Town Hall in Ashburton.  There are no auditions and no need to commit to the term.

We sing uplifting, soothing and playful harmony songs from around the world.  Weaving our voices together can help us to connect with ourselves and one another, regulate our nervous systems, and increase our overall sense of wellbeing.

All welcome !

An Inspiring Poem by Mary Oliver (about singing !)

I worried so much.
Would the gardens grow, would the rivers run
the right way, would the earth turn
as I was taught, and if not how
should I make it right?
Was I right, was I wrong, would I be forgiven,
can I do better?
Would I ever be able to sing,
even the sparrows can do it and I am,
well, hopeless.
Is my eyesight fading or am I just imagining it,
am I going to get rheumatism,
lockjaw, dementia?
Finally I saw that worrying had come to nothing.
And gave it up.
And took my old body and went out into the
morning, and sang.
