Across cultures and throughout history, music and the human voice have been trusted as tools for healing. In the Amazon, icaros are sung as medicine - songs said to carry the intelligence of the plants themselves to shape the inner journey and guide emotional release. In India, mantras are used to steady the mind, open the heart and attune consciousness. Even here, the (perhaps too) ubiquitous Christmas carols are reminders of how large a role music plays in our own seasonal rituals.
