BEYOND VOICE: WEAVING THE ELEMENTS

A Transformative Journey of Sound, Voice and Self-Expression

Unlock the power of your voice, gain confidence in expressing yourself and maximise your creative potential in a nurturing safe environment designed to support you on the journey of self-discovery.

Find your true sound, release blockages, explore, play, create, improvise and expand your true self through the power of your voice.

Inspired by the wheel of the 5 elements as described by Chinese Medicine - water, wood, fire, earth and metal - Beyond Voice brings the wisdom of this ancient medicine and applies it to voice work techniques. Meditation, breath, movement, dance, sound exploration, sound release, playfulness, experimentation and a good dosage of wilderness.

You can join a single session, commit to a 3-session journey, or embark on the full 5-element experience for the deepest transformation.

SESSIONS INCLUDE:

Session 1 (13th February): WATER

• Water tea
• Element of water: emotions, organs, animal, movement and sound for energy clearing associated to this element
• Voice warm-up: techniques to warm up your voice
• Fear of being seen vs trust, flow and vitality through sound and movement
• Sound lab and circle singing
• Instruments: sansula & rainstick
• Learning a Mexican Water song

Session 2 (27th February): WOOD

• Wood tea
• Element of wood: emotions, organs, animal, movement and sound for energy clearing associated to this element
• Hearing your own voice
• Release through your voice, anger & frustration management, volumes and safe voice projection
• Compassionate approach to singing
• Sound lab and circle singing
• Instruments: guitar, didgeridoo, flutes
• Learning a Medicine song

Session 3 (6th March): FIRE

• Fire tea
• Element of fire: emotions, organs, animal, movement and sound for energy clearing associated to this element
• Breath and singing
• Power is not in volume. Connection.
  Fire the gatherer of voices
• Release through laugh, joy, sparkle
• Sound lab and circle singing
• Instruments: shakers & shamanic drum
• Learning a mantra

Session 4 (20th March): EARTH

• Earthy tea
• Element of fire: emotions, organs, animal, movement and sound for energy clearing associated to this element
• The embodied voice. The body and sound
• Grounding techniques. Intention
• Rhythm - drumming - body percussion
• Sound lab and circle singing
• Instruments: djembe, cajon, calabash
• Learning an African song

Session 5 (27th March): METAL

• Metal tea

• Letting go of what was. Change.
  Courage
• Improvisation
• Energy healing aspects of the voice
• Sound lab and circle singing
• Instruments: singing bowl, bells, gong

Api Ascaso

Api is an explorative and vibrant soul whose musical abilities reunite together to create expressive, eclectic and soulful music. Her fascination for world-music, mysticism, human evolution and nature continue influencing her offerings and compositions. Api’s signature is the strength of an incredible versatile raw voice that seems to travel through time and space with an intimate balance between the earthy feminine and universal masculine forces. This, accompanied by the several world-instruments that she presents with delicacy. Api’s musical exploration melts with her high sensitivity to feel space and the energies involved around. Her language is music and her mastery her genuine improvisation skills, at service of the present moment. Her music is an invitation to breathe deeply, making a n exercise of self-enquiry and journeying into the unknown that belongs uniquely to you.

Api has been running individual and group voice work sessions for 5 years, helping those who want to gain confidence in using their voice and expand their musical abilities. Api has over 2 decades of experience as Occupational Therapist working with the most vulnerable children and their families. She has a deep understanding of neurodivergence and continuous working for children with non-verbal Autism. Api also  has a strong background as energy healer, space holder and retreat facilitator. Her concoction of skills, including  being  a mother of 2, come together with her playful and honest personality, a mediterranean flavour and a deep presence. A motherly energy that is at service of the client and/or group's needs.

Carlotta Artuso

Carlotta is an Event Coordinator at The Psychedelic Society, with a deep passion for nature, personal and collective growth, mystical experiences and food (Italian roots play a big role here!).

Psychedelics have profoundly transformed her life, opening her mind to new perspectives and deeper self-awareness, allowing her to break free from the 9-5 grind and to launch her own PR and Events company -  Carlotta PR.

She believes in their potential to heal and transform, and she's passionate about advocating for their safe, intentional use to inspire positive change and open new pathways of consciousness.

ACCESS:  We do our best to include everyone in our events, regardless of health circumstances. If you have access requirements please email the event organiser directly to discuss. Many facilitators are able to offer reduced ticket prices for those truly unable to afford the ticket price.
