SUNDAY 25 OCT  - “SAMHAIN”

The traditional Celtic celebration of Samhain is similar to many cultural calendar markings such as Halloween and Dia De Los Muertos.

It is a time when the boundary between our world and the beyond is said to be at its thinnest.

A moment of coming together that acknowledges the phenomena of departing.

But how will you embody it?

Never been before?

Feel welcome. This is a large group movement session in which we dance through the 5Rhythms movment map. This natural and powerful exploration of embodiment allows us to easily acces the richness of our individual and collective expereince; opening the doors to somatic process and cathartic ecstasy. It's recommended to bring a full water bottle and layers to move in comfortably.

Timings:

Completing together is always easier when we start together. Arrive early to really drop into the body. I honestly believe the greatest learnings I have received have been before the doors close.

*failure to arrive in time will mean the check in desk is unattended and you will be unable to enter the building - please note we dance in an amazing venue that is part of a school and there is a strict door policy to ensure safeguarding rules are followed.

Venue:

We dance in The Great Hall, inside Bristol Grammar School, Elton Road, BS8 1SR  (enter via the big main arch entrance).

There's 50 car park spaces at a first come first serve basis + on street paid parking

With a comfortable wooden floor that's over 400msq to move in + a juicy sound system + climactic waves of music, this is Bristols  largest movement space in more ways than one.

Facilitation:

Sessions are held by Tim Barnes - known for his music led, DJ centred approach to creating sonic sound journeys that bridge the highs of Ecstatic Dance + the depths of 5Rhythms. He’s been utilising dance as his healing modality for nearly 15 years, and holding space for others’ processes across the last 5, both in the UK and internationally with classes, workshops, retreats and festivals.
