SAVVY SEWING Creative Sleepover
At Three Pools Permaculture Farm.

Savvy Sewing is a weekend to demystify the ancient and super helpful craft of sewing. Develop your confidence and skills to pimp, alter, mend and create from textiles by hand and machine sewing to realise your own stylish aspirations and costume dreams.
Creative Sleepovers take place in the nourishing landscape of Three Pools Permaculture Farm. Hosted by resident artist, cook and farmer duo, Amy Cooper and Hannah Kempe. These gatherings offer time and space to to be crafty and with the support of experienced artists and makers. Every day there's delicious meals and time to rest, wild swim, sauna or wander the farm.

Is it for me?
Whether you are an experienced sewer looking to share hot tips or a complete newbie seeking support to begin, this will be a time and space to enjoy a shared passion. Bring your desire to be a savvier sewer and enjoy the company and progress of others at the various stages of their own journey with sewing.

How will I learn?
We will be learning sewing machine and hand sewing techniques by getting hands-on with supported open space and some simple guided activities. Whether you want to alter and improve the fit of clothes, repairing and maintaining clothes you love so they last longer, making things more you and unique or creating gifts for other people this weekend will help you.
Kate Griffiths, a prolific, playful maker and user of needle and sewing machine along with many other crafts will be collaborating with Creative Sleepover Hosts Amy Cooper and Hannah Kempe to make this weekend hands-on, brave, full of lightbulb learning moments and things to take home.
On offer to learn:
- Fixing and reinforcing your favourite items
- Techniques for altering clothes for a better fit
- Patching & darning
- Simple quilting techniques
- Aplique to pimp and add pattern to existing textiles.
- Simple patterns to follow to make bags and jackets
- Look at how 2D patterns work to create 3D forms
- Support to explore making your own pattern
- Encouragement to have a go!
We hope these skills will help you feel empowered to make and wear things with freedom.
